In regards to the Special Event Permit Application checklist, please note the following: Enclosed Documents • Permit application is enclosed • Permit fee is enclosed • Indemnification Agreement is enclosed • Waiver & Release of Liability is enclosed • Course Route Maps - Full Marathon, Half Marathon, 5k • Mile Marker locations • Turn -by -Turn Route Overview -- includes street closures and reopening times and lead runner times • Sample Resident/Business Notification (2014 sample enclosed, 2015 will be forwarded) • Waste Management Plan • Water Station locations in the City of Costa Mesa - images include layout of water stations. Water Stations that include medical aid are indicated by a red cross - those locations will include a 10x10 pop-up tent. Each Water Station will be accompanied by portable restrooms. Documents to be forwarded: • USATF Insurance • General Liability Insurance Certificate and Endorsement will be forwarded upon receipt • Course Entertainment • Business License Number, Issuance and Expiration date will be forwarded upon receipt. A copy of our application is enclosed • Event Shuttle Route will be forwarded upon completion • Traffic Control Plan - 2015 plans will be submitted by JCL Barricade Company • Layout of Course and Finish Line Festival at OC Fair and Event Center Traffic Notifications • Resident/Business Notification - The OC Marathon will have notification delivered to residence and business addresses within 1/4 mile of the course route. Trash Removal ■ Course - Each volunteer Water Station is supervised by a Water Station Captain and instructed to manage the breakdown and clean-up of the aid stations, bagging all trash and leftover supplies. Almost all dumpsters will be located at the OC Fair & Event Center and will be located on the Festival Field. (north of the Staging/Equipment Zone) Athens Street Services Will provide street sweeping around Fashion Island and through half marathon route Dumpsters/Containers: • (1) 40 -yard roll off dumpster (start line) • (4) 40 -yard roll -off dumpsters (Festival Field) • 50 cardboard trash boxes set-up at the Finish Line Festival • 50 cardboard trash boxes set-up around the Start Line at Fashion Island. • 200 cardboard trash boxes deployed throughout the water stations 0 15-20 cardboard trash boxes at each water station on the first half of the course 0 6-8 cardboard trash boxes at each water station on the second half of the course. THE MAJORITY OF TRASH IS REMOVED BY THE WATER STATION VOLUNTEERS At the Start line 1. 50 cardboard trash boxes will be set up at the start line 2. One dumpster will be located at the start line, most likely in the MARRIOTT On the Course 1. All waste from the Start Line and on -course water and medical stations will be cleaned up by volunteers and brought back to the OC Fair & Event Center following the clean-up at each station. 2. A commercial sweeping machine truck that sweeps the start line and problem areas along the course. (Athens Services) 3. A 26 -Foot Stake Bed Course Sweep Truck that is responsible for removing mile markers, course arrows and ensuring all waste has been removed from the course route.
