I am a fortyfive-year-plus resident of the City of Costa Mesa. I have attended OCC, shop at the local
businesses and routinely utilize many of the parks, schools, libraries and other community resources.
I am very concerned about the future utilization of city land going forward. I am also concerned about
the surrounding area projects that have impacts on the city.
I have wide ranging experience in many areas that enables me to have a very well rounded, objective
(view of issues. I am a UCI graduate after my two years at OCC. I sat on the OCERS board for seven
years which gave me experience in board rules of order, institutional investing, budgeting, auditing,
human resources, IT contract issues and more. My other experience includes Eagle scout, crime
(analysis/forensics, leadership/supervision, outdoor enthusiast, reading, gardening, computer/internet
Jand I try to keep on local and national current events in politics. My talents included strategic thinking
land the ability to quickly identify the core issue of a problem.
!i
if Please consider me for the Fair -view Park committee or any other committee/commission. I would

As a Costa Mesa homeowner, husband, and father, I have a passion for our city and would love to be
apart of its direction.
My experience includes a 9 year public policy background with positions at the LA County Board of
Supervisors, and with 2 member of Congress. Under my current position, as Deputy District Director
for Congressman Dana Rohrabacher, I've had the opportunity to work with Costa Mesa city staff and
the Costa Mesa Chamber of Commerce. Combined with my Juris Doctorate from Whittier Law School,
I possess an understanding of the law necessary to serve in this capacity,
I am also an active member at Christ Lutheran Church Costa Mesa where I currently serve on the
Board of Education for Christ Lutheran School.
As a member of the Costa Mesa street team on homelessness I've developed an intimate knowledge
of the needs of this city. Working with local volunteer groups and residents has given me the skills
needed to best serve this community.
Thank you for your consideration. -C CR 0 -*'-

At Orange Coast College I chaired many events; however, one that really impacted my life was
chairing Special Olympics, an event for kids with special needs. As chair I designated tasks, created
schedules, provided support and learning opportunities to both my committee and the kids who came
to compete. My goal was to construct a successful event where the volunteers came to understand
different people's needs, to learn that everyone counts. To see the smiles from the 350 participants
proved to me that the event was a success and made me realize that when one impacts someone's
life positively, brings happiness and compassion—skills that are rare but essential in a leader. Seeing
these physically challenged kids give their best inspired me to become more involved in student
government—so I ran for Student Senator. I had success in student government at OCC. I was
elected Senator and appointed as a District Student Council representative. In which I had the
pleasure to work on legislation, resolutions, and represented more than 30,000 students. In the
positions that I have held, it has tested my character and inspired in me the need to remain open to
diversity and lead those around me. And the lessons of these experiences have strengthened my
leadership skills due to the understanding of different cultures and human personalities. I also decided
to give back to my community by becoming a tutor at Save Our Youth. All of these experiences—
chairing the Special Olympics committee, the many student government experiences I had, and
tutoring at Save Our Youth—have taught me that leadership is not about being dominant, but being
able to walk beside those who struggle.
Now I am a college student at University of California, Irvine who is expanding his education,
knowledge, and opportunities to succeed in life. I realize now that I am responsible for people around
me and every choice I make can affect others. My daily walk through the city of Costa Mesa has been
a reminder of being a successful community leader, focusing on servitude to the people, community,
and to myself. If chosen, I will challenge myself to give the best of me and push to my limits in the
Housing & Public Service Grant Committee.

I am currently on this committee, and wish to continue my service to the City and the community with a
reapplication. I previously served on the 3R Committee, and am currently a member of the Planning
Commission. Assisting the local public service non-profit organizations is a rewarding experience,
their mission to help our citizens in various ways a very important one to the community. I have been
honored to have been a part of this committee in the past, I wish to continue my service, and
respectfully ask for the support of the Council and for a reappointment. Thank you.

1 would like to continue my service to the City of Costa Mesa on the Housing & Public Service Grant Committee. Having served on the
committe for approximately 10 years, has afforded me the opportunity to see measurable services non-profit organizations have been
able to provide to the residents of Costa Mesa through the Community Development Block Grant.
I participated on the Housing & Public Service Grant Committee (formely 3R Committee) sub -committee to change the way the annual
Federal funds are allocated. The modified process resulted in a fair process. The new process also resulted in the grantees having to
demonstrate accountability to taxpayers that funds for those in need are used to serve them well.
It would be my pleasure to continue participation in helping to shape Costa Mesa by helping the senior citizens, youth and homeless in
Costa Mesa as a member of the Housing & Public Service Grant Committee.
Your consideration for re -appointment to the Housing & Public Service Grant Committee is appreciated.
