HomeMy WebLinkAbout- - Additional Documents - 6/16/2015AB 2188 Requirements • City must adopt ordinance to streamline permitting process for small residential rooftop solar energy system. • Ordinance must be adopted on or before September 30, 2015. • City must develop a checklist for small solar project and the checklist must be accessible on the internet. • The checklist and process shall substantially conform to the California Solar Permitting Guidebook adopted by the Governor's Office of Planning and Research. • Limit inspection to one visit, unless the installation fails the initial inspection. 1 Added language to the ordinance: Whereas, in accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), the CEQA Guidelines, and the City's environmental procedures, City Council finds that the adoption of this ordinance is covered by CEQA General Rule Exemption [Section 15061(b)(3)] which exempts activities that can be seen with certainty to have no possibility for causing a significant effect on the environment. A significant effect is defined as, "a substantial, or potentially substantial, adverse change in the physical conditions within the area," and the adoption of this Ordinance is therefore not subject to CEQA.
