Accept the work performed by C.J. Concrete Construction Inc. and authorize the City Clerk to file the Notice of Completion. 2. Release the Labor and Material Bond seven (7) months after the filing date; release the Faithful Performance Bond one (1) year after the filing date; and release the retention monies 35 days after the Notice of Completion filing date. BACKGROUND: On May 5, 2015, a construction contract in the amount of $1,118,607.50 was awarded to C.J. Concrete Construction, Inc., 10142 Shoemaker Avenue, Santa Fe Springs, California, 90670, for the 2014-2015 Halecrest Neighborhood Parkway Concrete Repair Project, City Project 15-03. The scope of work consisted of localized reconstruction of sidewalks, curb and gutter, cross gutters, spandrels, curb ramps, driveway approaches, and other incidental work needed to complete the project in accordance with the contract documents. The list of parkway improvement locations is included herein as Attachment 1. l h -' Ill. i.�l.l ....r.-•� '� Before Improvements After Improvements ANALYSIS: The work required by the contract documents was completed on April the City Engineer. The final contract cost amounted to $1,170,409.90 included herein as Attachment 2. A summary of the costs is as follows: Original Contract Cost: $ 1,118,607.50 Change Order No. 1: $ 55,930.38 Final Quantity Adjustments: ($ 4,127.98) Final Contract Cost: $ 1,170,409.90 19, 2017, to the satisfaction of . A report of the final costs is The final contract price reflects a four and six -tenths percent (4.6%) increase to the original contract due to Change Order No. 1, which was issued to utilize the competitive unit prices to reconstruct additional areas, and address final quantity adjustments. As of this date, there are no Stop Notices filed against the monies due to C.J. Concrete Construction Inc. ALTERNATIVES CONSIDERED: There were no alternatives considered for this item. FISCAL REVIEW: This project was funded with Measure "M2" Fairshare funds and Gas Tax revenues appropriated in Fiscal Year 2014 - 2015. IXH_1g0WA1=15 There is no legal review required on this item. CONCLUSION: The 2014-2015 Halecrest Neighborhood Parkway Concrete Repair Project, City Project 15-03, has been completed to the satisfaction of the City Engineer. It is recommended that the City Council authorize staff to file the Notice of Completion; release the remaining retention monies 35 days after the Notice of Completion filing date; and release the bonds accordingly.
