Accept the work performed by C.J. Concrete Construction Inc. and authorize the City Clerk to file the Notice of Completion. 2. Release the Labor and Material Bond seven (7) months after the filing date; release the Faithful Performance Bond one (1) year after the filing date; and release the retention monies 35 days after the Notice of Completion filing date. BACKGROUND: On February 17, 2015, a construction contract in the amount of $575,430.00 was awarded to C.J. Concrete Construction, Inc., 10142 Shoemaker Avenue, Santa Fe Springs, California, 90670, for the Citywide Parkway Concrete Repair and New Sidewalk Construction Project. The project scope consisted of reconstruction of sidewalks, curb and gutter, cross gutters, spandrels, curb ramps, driveway approaches, and other incidental work needed to complete the project in accordance with the contract documents. The list of parkway improvement locations within the scope of work of this contract is included as Attachment 1. Before Improvements After Improvements ANALYSIS: The work required by the contract documents was completed on May 10, 2017, to the satisfaction of the City Engineer, with a final contract cost of $625,388.00. A report of the final costs is included herein as Attachment 2. A summary of the costs is as follows: Original Contract Cost: $ 575,430.00 Change Order No. 1: $ 50,000.00 Final Quantity Adjustments: ($ 42.00) Final Contract Cost: $ 625,388.00 The change order was for additional parkway locations added to the contract over the original project scope. The final contract price reflects a nine percent (9%) increase to the original contract as a result of the change orders and final quantity adjustments. As of this date, there are no Stop Notices filed against the monies due to C.J. Concrete Construction Inc. ALTERNATIVES CONSIDERED: There were no alternatives considered for this item. FISCAL REVIEW: This project was funded with Measure "M2" Fairshare funds, Capital Improvement funds, and Gas Tax revenues. LEGAL REVIEW: There is no legal review required on this item. CONCLUSION: The Citywide Parkway Concrete Repair Project and New Sidewalk Construction Project, City Project 14-12 has been completed to the satisfaction of the City Engineer. It is recommended that the City Council authorize staff to file the Notice of Completion; release the remaining retention monies 35 days after the Notice of Completion filing date; and release the bonds accordingly.
