AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA DECLARING
ITS INTENTION TO ORDER THE VACATION OF A PORTION
OF THAT CERTAIN RIGHT OF WAY KNOWN AS POMONA STREET
BETWEEN BAKER. STREET AND MAPLE AVENUE IN THE CITY
OF COSTA MESA.
WHEREAS, the City of Costa Mesa, in and by virtue of the Baker Street No. 3
Annexation, effective on March 8th, 1957, has acquired jurisdiction over that certain
right of way known as Pomona Street between Baker Street and Maple Avenue in said city;
and
WHEREAS, said portion of that certain right of way known as Pomona Street is
not noir used for public street purposes, will not be required for street purposes, and
public interest will best be served by the vacation of said portion of right of way;
and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Costa Mesa has recommended
to the City Council that said portion of Pomona Street between Baker Street and Maple
Avenue be abandoned,-
NOW,
bandoned;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa does hereby ordain
as follows:
SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Costa Mesa does hereby declare
its intention to vacate that certain portion of that certain right of way known as
Pomona Street, described as follows:
That portion of Pomona Street starting at the Northeast corner
of Lot 30, Fountain Addition to Fairview, as shown on maps and
records of Los Angeles County in Book 2, pages 137 to 139; con-
tinuing along the Southerly prolongation of the east lot line
to the centerline of Maple Avenue (vacated), thence thirty (30)
feet to the East along said centerline; thence Northerly along
a line parallel to the Easterly line of Lot 30 to the south prop-
erty line of Baker Street; thence for thirty (30) feet west along
the south property line of Baker Street to the point of beginning.
SECTION 2. Monday, the 7th day of April, 1958, at the hour of 7:30 P.M., in
the Council Chambers of the City Hall, 695 West 19th Street, Costa Mesa, California, is
hereby fixed as the time and place for hearing all persons interested in or objecting
to the proposed vacation.
SECTION 3. The City Manager of the City of Costa Mesa is hereby directed to
cause notices of the said proposed street vacation to be posted conspicuously along that
part of the street proposed to be vacated at least ten (10) days before the date of said
hearing. Said notices shall be posted not more than three hundred (300) feet apart, but
in no event less than three (3) shall be posted.

SECTION 4. This Ordinance, together with the names of the members of the
City Council voting for and against the same, shall be published once in the Costa
Mesa Globe -Herald and Pilot, a newspaper of general circulation printed and published
in the City of Costa Mesa, County of Orange. This Ord-Inance shall take effect upon the
completion of publication.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 3rd day of March, 1958.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY
OF COSTA MESA DECLARING ITS
INTENTION TO ORDER THE VA-
CATION OF A PORTION OF THAT
