AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA,
DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO ORDER THE VACATION OF A
CERTAIN ALLEY
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Costa Mesa, Cali-
fornia, has recommended the abandonment and vacation of the hereinafter described
alley; and
WHEREAS, said alley is not now used for alley purposes, and will
not be required for alley purposes under the proposed shopping center master
plan developed for the area; and
abandoned,
WHEREAS, the City Council has received a request that said alley be
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa, Cali -
forma, does ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Costa Mesa does here-
by declare its intention to vacate the following described alley:
"A portion of that alley 12 feet in width lying
Northerly of and adjoining Lot No. 5, Fairview
Farms, as shown on a map thereof recorded in
Miscellaneous Maps, Book 8, page 71, Records of
Orange County, California, lying between the
Easterly line of said Lot No. 5 and a line 60
feet Easterly of and parallel to the centerline
of Harbor Boulevard, formerly Fairview Avenue"
and reference is hereby made to Costa Mesa Shopping Center Plot Plan dated
February, 1958, on file in the Office of the City Clerk for further particulars
as to said proposed vacation.
SECTION 2. Monday, the 21st day of April, 1958, at the hour of
seven -thirty otclock (7:30 P.M.) in the Chambers of the City Council, located
in the Costa Mesa City Hall, 695 West 19th Street, Costa Mesa, California, is
hereby fixed as the time and place for hearing all persons interested in or ob-
jecting to the proposed abandonment and vacation.
SECTION 3. The City Manager of the City of Costa Mesa is hereby
directed to cause notices of the said proposed street vacation'to be posted
conspicuously along that part of the street proposed to be vacated at least ten
(10) days before the date of said hearing. Said notices shall be posted not
more than three hundred (300) feet apart, but in no event less than three (3)
shall be posted.

SECTION 4. This Ordinance, together with the names of the mem-
bers of the City Council voting for and against the same shall be published
once in the Costa Mesa Globe -Herald and Pilot, a newspaper printed and publish-
ed tri -weekly in the County of Orange.
SECTION 5. This Ordinance shall take effect upon the completion
of publication.
