AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA APPROVING THE AN-
NEXATION OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY"CONTIGUOUS TO
THE CITY OF COSTA MESA, IN THE COUNTY OF ORANGE, KNOWN
AND DESIGNATED AS "FAIRLANE ANNEXATION".
The City Council of the City of Costa Mesa does hereby ordain as follows:
SECTION 1
That the annexation to the City of Costa Mesa, County of Orange, State
of California, of that certain uninhabited territory, contiguous to said City,
is hereby approved and the said territory is hereby ordained to be annexed to
and made a part of the City of Costa Mesa, County of Orange, State of California;
that said territory is particularly described as follows:
That portion of Lot 217, Newport Heights, as shown on a
map thereof recorded in Miscellaneous Maps, Book 4, Page
83, records of Orange County, California, described as
follows:
Beginning at a point in the existing boundary of the
City of Costa Mesa, said point being the point of inter-
section of the Northeasterly line of 20th Street, 60' In
width, with the Northwesterly line of Tustin Avenue, 60'
in width; thence Southeasterly along the existing bound-
ary line of the City of Costa Mesa to the most Westerly
corner of Lot 1, Tract No. 2993, as shown on a map thereof
recorded in Miscellaneous Maps, Book 87, Page 50, records
of said Orange County; thence Northeasterly along the
Northwesterly boundary of said Tract No. 2993 to the
Southwesterly line of Lot 227 of said Newport Heights;
thence Northwesterly along the Southwesterly line of
said Lot No. 227 and the Northwesterly prolongation
thereof to the Northwesterly line of said Tustin Avenue;
thence Southwesterly along the Northwesterly line of said
Tustin Avenue to the point of beginning.
SECTION 2
That the boundary of the City of Costa Mesa, County of Orange, State of
California, be, and the same is hereby, altered to include the above described
territory into the City of Costa Mesa, County of Orange, State of California.
SECTION 3
That the proceedings for annexation herein ordained are had and taken
under and pursuant to the provisions of an Act of the Legislature of the State of
California designated and referred to as the "Annexation of Uninhabited Territory
Act of 1939"•
SECTION 4
This Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force thirty (30) days
from and after its passage and prior to the expiration of fifteen (15) days from
its passage shall be published once in the COSTA MESA GLOBE -HERALD and PILOT, a
newspaper of general circulation, printed And published in the City of Costa Mesa,
together with the names of the members of the City Council voting for and against
the same.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 24th day of November, 1958•
