AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, AYENDING
ORDINANCE N0. 44, REGULATING ROUTES FOR CERTAIN COMMERCIAL
VEHICLES, AND REPEALING CRDINANCE NO. 190.
The City Council of the City of Costa Mesa, California, does hereby ordain
as follows:
SECTION 1. Ordinance No. 190 of the City of Costa Mesa, California, is
hereby repealed.
SECTION 2. Section 150 of Article XII and Section 176 of Article XIV
of Ordinance No. 144 are hereby repealed.
SECTION 3. There are hereby added to Article XII of Ordinance No. 44
of the City of Costa Mesa, California, the following new Sections:
°Section 150. Through Truck Route No, 1. For motor truck traffic ap-
proaching and entering the City of Costa Mesa over Harbor Boulevard, the follow-
ing truck routes are hereby established:
Harbor Boulevard from the Northerly City boundary to Newport Boulevard,
and along Newport Boulevard, as follows:
(a) Southeasterly on Newport Boulevard to the City boundary; or
(b) Southeasterly along Newport Boulevard to East 17th Street, and
along East 17th Street to the City boundary; or
(c) Southeasterly along Newport Boulevard to Superior Avenue and along
Superior Avenue to the City boundary.
Section 151, Through Truck Route No. 2. For motor truck traffic ap-
proaching and entering the City of Costa Mesa from the South along East 17th
Street, the following truck routes are hereby established:
follows:
East 17th Street to Newport Boulevard, and along Newport Boulevard, as
(a) Southeasterly along Newport Boulevard to the City boundary; or
(b) Northwesterly along Newport Boulevard to the City boundary; or
(c) Northwesterly along Newport Boulevard to Harbor Boulevard, and
along Harbor Boulevard to the City boundary.
Section 152, Through Truck Route No. 3. For motor truck traffic ap-
aching and entering the City of Costa Mesa over Newport Boulevard from the

North, the following track routes are hereby established:
(a) Along Newport Boulevard to the Southeast City boundary; or
(b) Along Newport Boulevard to Harbor Boulevard and along Harbor
Boulevard to the City boundary; or
(c) Along Newport Boulevard to East 17th Street, and along East 17th
Street to the City boundary; or
(d) Along Newport Boulevard to Superior Avenue, and along Superior
Avenue to the City boundary.
Section 153. Through Truck Route No. 4. For motor truck traffic ap-
proaching and entering the City of Costa Mesa over Newport Boulevard from the
Southeast, the following truck routes are hereby established:
(a) Along Newport Baalevard to the Northwesterly City boundary; or
(b) Along Newport Boulevard to East 17th Street and along East 17th
Street to the City boundary; or
(c) Along Newport Boulevard to Harbor Boulevard, and along Harbor
Boulevard to the City boundary.
Section 154. Through Truck Route No. 5. For motor track traffic ap-
proaching and entering the City of Costa Mesa over Superior Avenue, the follow-
ing track routes are hereby established:
(a) Along Superior Avenue to Newport Boulevard, and along Newport
Boulevard to the Northwesterly City boundary; or
(b) Along Superior Avenue to Newport Boulevard, and along Newport
Boulevard to Harbor Boulevard, and along Harbor Boulevard to the
City boundary.
Section 155. It shall be unlawful for any operator of a motor truck en -
with a destination outside the City of Costa Mesa,
tering the City of Costa Mesa„/to operate said motor track over any other route
than that hereinabove set forth in Sections 150 through 151.
Section 156. For the purpose of this Article, a motor track is a motor
vehicle designed, used and maintained primarily for the transportation of prop-
erty, and having an unladen weight of six thousand (6,000) pounds or more.
Section 157. The provisions of this Article shall not apply to passen-
ger busses under the jurisdiction of the Public Utilities Commission.*

SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force
thirty (30) days from and after its passage, and prior to the expiration of
fifteen (15) days from its passage shall be published once in the COSTA MMA
GLOBE -HERALD and PILOT, a newspaper of general circulation printed and published
in the City of Costa Mesa, together with the names of the members of the City
Council voting for and against the same.
