HomeMy WebLinkAbout225 - Intention to Vacate Portion of Lot 1, Tract 1644ORDINANCE NO. 225 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA DECLARING THE INTENTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL TO ORDER THIS, VACATION OF A RIGHT OF WAY AT THE SOUTHEAST CORNER OF COLLEGE AVENUE AND BAKER STREET IN SAID CITY. WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Costa Mesa has recommended to the City Council that a portion of that certain right of way lying within College Avenue and Baker Street, all within Tract No. 1644, as shown on a map thereof recorded in Book 105, page 50 of Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange County, California., be vacated and abandoned; and WHEREAS, the said parcel of land proposed to be vacated is not now used for public street purposes, will not be required for public street purposes, and public interest will best be served by the vacation and abandonment of said unusued portion of right of way, hereinafter particularly described; FOLLMIS: NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA DOES ORDAIN AS SECTION 1 The City Council of the City of Costa Mesa does hereby declare its intention to vacate that certain portion of right of way lying in College Avenue and Baker Street, described as follows: A parcel of land lying within College Avenue and Baker Street, all within Tract No. 1644, as shown on a map thereof recorded in Book 105, page 50 of Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange County, California, the boundary of which is described as follows: Beginning at the northerly terminus of the West line of Lot 1 of said Tract No. 1644; thence continuing along the northerly prolongation of said West line North 10 13' 43" West, 19.87 feet to the beginning of a tangent curve, concave southeasterly, having a radius of 15.00 feet; thence northerly, northeasterly and easterly along said curve through a central angle of 900 041 581 a distance of 23.58 feet to the beginning of a tangent line; thence North 880 51' 15" East, 13.72 feet to the beginning of a non -tangent curve, concave southeasterly, having a radius of 98.00 feet, the radius point of which bears South 380 23' 28" East; thence southwesterly along said curve through a central angle of 260 381 54" a distance of 45.58 feet to the point of beginning, and reference is hereby made tn a map on file in the Office of the City Clerk of the City of Costa Mesa for further particulars as to said vacation. SECTION 2 Monday, the 6th day of April, 1959, at the hour of 7:30 o'clock, p.m., in the Council Chambers of the City Council at the City Hall, 695 West 19th Street, Costa Mesa, California, is hereby fixed as the time and place for hearing all persons interested in or objecting to the pror-osed vacation. SECTION 3 The City Manager of the City of. Costa Mesa is hereby directed to cause notices of the proposed street vacation to be posted conspicuously along that part of the street proposed to be vacated at least ten (10) days before the date of said hearing. Said notices shall be posted not more than three hundred (300) feet apart, but in no event shall less than three (3) be posted. SECTION 4 This Ordinance, together with the names of the members of the City Council voting, for and against the same shall be published once in the COSTA T^ESA GLOBE- HERALD LOBE-HE ALD and PILOT, a newspaper of general circulation printed and published in the City of Costa Mesa, County of Orange. This Ordinance shall take effect upon the completion of publication. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 2nd day of March, 1959.
