HomeMy WebLinkAbout242 - Requiring Subdividers to Pay Street Lighting CostsORDINANCE NO. 242 AN CRDIWCE OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA, CALIFMNIA, REQUIRIM SUBDIVIDERS TO PAY STREET LIGHTING COSTS. The City Council of the City of Costa Mesa does hereby ordain as follows: SECTION 1. All persons, firms, and corporations shall, at the time of filing a final Tract Map with the City of Costa Mesa, pay, in addition to other fees provided by City Ordinances, an amount of the estimated cost of the installation of light poles and electrical energy for the street lights in the tract or tracts, for the period from the date of installation of such poles to the next November 1st. The Street Lighting Superintendent of the City of Costa Mesa shall determine the estimated cost of the light poles and the electric energy charge for said period, based upon the amounts charged by the Edison Company to the City of Costa Mesa under the current contract. SECTION 2. The electrical fee to be paid, as provided for in this ordinance, shall be paid to the City Engineer at the time that the other fees and bonds required by other ordinances are to be paid and furnished to said Engineer. SECTION 3. Any person, firm, or corporation violating the pro- visions of this ordinance by failing to pay said street lighting costs, shall be deemed to be guilty of a misdemeanor, and shall be punished by a fine not to exceed Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00), or by imprisonment in the County Jail for a period not to exceed six months (6), or by both fine and imprisonment. SECTION 4. ENACTMENT: This Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force thirty (30) days from its passage; and prior to the expiration of fifteen (15) days from the passage thereof, this Ordinance, together with the names of the members of the City Council voting for and against the same, shall be published once in the Costa Mesa Globe -Herald and Pilot, a newspaper of general circulation printed and published in the City of Costa Mesa, PASSED AND ADOPTED this -.lst day of Janq,1959. The City Council of the City of Costa Mesa does hereby ordain as follows: SECTION 1.
