The City Council of the City of Costa Mesa does hereby ordain as follows: SECTION 1. Ordinance No. 257 of the City of Costa Mesa is hereby repealed. SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect thirty (30) days from and after its passage, and prior to the expiration of fifteen (15) days from the passage thereof shall be published once in the GLOBE -HERALD and PILOT, a newspaper of general circulation, printed and published in the City of Costa Mesa, together with the names of the members of the City Council voting for and against the same. WORKS AND REPEALING ORDI- NANCE NO. 180 . The City Council of the City of Costa Mesa does hereby ordain as follows: SECTION 1. FIREWORKS PROHD3- ITED. No person, firm, association or cor- poration shall sell, display, give away. store keep, stock, or discharge, fire, explode, or set off or otherwise dis- pose of any fireworks or firecrackers of any description within the City; provided, however, that it shall be lawful, after approval by the City Council, to have the custody, posses- sion. and transportation of fireworks within the Incorporated limits of the City to be used at a public display of fireworks In said City. Any person who violates any of the provisions of this Ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be punishable by a fine not to exceed $300.00 or by imprisonment in the City or County Jail not to exceed six months, or by both such fine and imprisonment. SECTION 3. REPEAL Ordinance No. 180 is hereby re- pealed. SECTION 4. ENACTMENT. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect thirty (30) days after its passage, and prior to the expiration of fifteen (15) days from its passage shall be published once in the GLOBE -HERALD and PILOT a newspaper of general cir- culation, printed and published in the City of Costa Mesa, together with the names of the members of the City Council voting for and against the same.
