AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING
ARTICLE III OF ORDINANCE NO. 188.
The City Council of the City of Costa Mesa does ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 2 of Article III of Ordinance No. 188 is hereby
amended to read as follows:
"SECTION 1 <A DUTY OF POUND14ASTM TO GIVE WARNING. Whenever the Pound ---
master shall observe any dog within the City of Costa Mesa barkint, howling,
or growling so as to affect public peace, security, health, quietude, welfare
or safety of any person or person5, or observe any dog running or charging at
or after any person or vehicle, or damaging or molesting private or public
property-, or roaming or running at large upon private or public property,
or upon receipt by the Poundmaster of a written complaint signed by two or
more persons setting forth that any dog committed any of the acts set forth
above, the Poundmaster shall give the owner of such dog, or to the person
having possession or control of said. dog, a written warning in substantially

constitute a violation of section bAof Article III of Ordinance No. 188 of
the City of Costa Mesa and that you, as the owner or person having possession
or control of said dog, will be subject to penalty under the provisions of
said Ordinance No. 188.

Said written warning may be delivered personally to the person
owAing or having possession or control of said dog or by mailing a copy,
postage prepaid, to such person to his place of residence.
It shall be unlawful for any person owning or having possession or

as above provided to allow or permit said dog to commit any of the acts
specified in the written warning within one year from the date of said
written warning."
SECTION 2, ETTACTMENT. This ordinance shall take effect and be in
full force and effect thirty (30) days after its passage, and prior to the
expiration of fifteen (15) days from its passage shall be published once
