AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA
ADOPTING THE "UNIFORM TRAILER CODE OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA"
AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF.
The City Council of the City of Costa Mesa does hereby ordain as follows:
SECTION I. UNIFORM TRAILER CODE ADOPTED. That certain document, three (3)
copies of which are on file in the office of the City Clerk, being marked and design-
ated as the "UNIFORM TRAILER CODE OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA", and being further
designated as Chapter VIII, Article 6, of the Municipal Code of the City of Costa Mesa,
is hereby adopted as the Trailer Code of the City of Costa Mesa.
SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall be an Urgency Ordinance. The facts con-
stituting such urgency are as follows:
There exist, in the City of Costa Mesa, sales and manufacturing establishments
urgently requiring guard and watchman service on a 24-hour basis for the preservation
and safety of merchandise and material in said establishments. The Uniform Trailer
Code of the City of Costa Mesa makes possible the issuance by the City Council of
trailer use permits for such guard and watchman service. It is, therefore, necessary
for the protection and safety of the people of the City of Costa Mesa that this
Ordinance take effect immediately upon the publication thereof.
SECTION 3. Any person, firm or corporation violating the provisions of the
Uniform Trailer Code of the City bf Costa Mesa shall be deemed to be guilty of a mis-
demeanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall be punished by a fine not to exceed
Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) or by imprisonment in the County Jail for a period not
to exceed six (6) months, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon publication in
the GLOBE -HERALD and PILOT, a newspaper of general circulation, printed and published
in the City of Costa Mesa, together with the names of the members of the City Council
voting for and against the same.
PASSED AND ADOPTED, this 14th day of March, 1960.
