HomeMy WebLinkAbout397 - River No. 2 Annexationmumac No. 3 9 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA APPROVING THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN UNIEWITO TZMUM RY CONTIGWUS TO THE CITY OF COSTA MESA IN THE C"ff OF ORANGE KNOWN AND DESIGNATED AS "RIVER NO. 2 ANNEXATION". The City Council of the City of Costa Masa does hereby ordain as follows; SECTION 1. That the annexation to the City of Costa Mesa, County of Orange, State of California, of that certain uninhabited territory, contiguous to said City, is hereby approved and the said territory is hereby ordained to be annexed to and made a part of the City of Costa Mesa, County of Orange, State of California; that said territory, known and designated as "RIVER NO. 2 ANNEXATION", is particularly described as follows: Beginning at a point in the existing boundary of the City of Costa Mesa as said boundary is described in the Canyon Annexation to the City of Costa Mesa, California, Ordinance Number 244, adopted July 28, 1959, and the River Annexation to the City of Costa Mesa, California, Ordinance No. 92, adopted June 27, 1955; said point being the southeast corner of Lot 75, Fairview Farms as shown on a map thereof, recorded in Book 8, page 71 of Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange County, California; thence along said existing boundary and the westerly prolongation of the south line of said Lot 75, South 8y0 28' 00" West 620.54 feet, to an angle point in the existing boundary of the City of Costa Mesa, California, as established by said Ordinance N::. 244; thence North 00 32' 00" West 102.72 feet, more or less, to the southerly line of Victoria Drive, 60 feet in width, as shown on a Record of Survey, recorded in Book 36, page 29 of Records of Surveys, Records of Orange County California; thence along the southerly 1 of said Victoria Drive, South 786 18' 00" West, 184.95 feet; thence South 17o1'o50"East, 335.98 feet; thence South 350 57' 10" East 247.30 feet; thence South 58 47 20 Easj, 172.62 feet; thence South 370 11' 04" East, 169.02 feet; thence South 63 22' 00" East, 726.02 feet, more or less, to the southerly prolongation of the centerline of Valley Road, 60 feet in width, as shown on a Record of Survey, recorded in Book 36, page 29 06 Records of Surveys, Records of Orange County, California; thence South 0 33' 00" East, along the southetly prolongation of the centerline of said Valley Road, 1426.73 feet, more or less, to a line 200 feet, measured at right angles, northerly of and parallel to the centerline of 19th Street, as 19th Street is laid out and shown on a map of Newport Mesa Tract, recorded in Book 5, page 1 of Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange County, California; thence South 890 28' 00" West, along said parallel line, 2189.51 feet, more or less, to the easterly line of the Santa Ana River, 300 feet in width, as described in a deed to the Newbert Protection District, recorded June 22, 19110 in Book 197, page 300 of Official Records of Orange County, California; thence departing from the existing boundary of the City of Costa Mesa, North 130 25' 00" East, along the easterly line of said Santa Ana River, 3195.93 feet, more or less, to the westerly prolongation of the centerline of Victoria Street, 60 feet in width, as shown on a map of Tract No. 653, recorded in Book 19, page 42 of Miscellaneous laps, records of Orange County, California; thence North 890 28' 00" East, along said westerly prolongation of the centerline of Victoria Street, 1088.28 feet, more or less, to the centerline of Pacific Avenue, 60 feet in width, as shown on a map of said Tract No. 653; thence South 00 32' 00" East, along the southerly prolongation of said centerline of Pacific Avenue, 660.25 feet, to the point of beginning. SECTION 2. That the boundary of the City of Costa Mesa, County of Orange, State of California, be, and the same is hereby, altered to include the above de- scribed territory into the City of Costa Mesa, County of Orange, State of California. 8E=05 3. That the proceedings for annexation herein ordained are had and taken under and pursuant to the provisions of an act of the Legislature of the State of California designated and referred to as the "Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939", SI MON 4.. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force thirty (30) days from and after its Waage, and prior to the expiration of fifteen (15) days from its passage shall be published once in the MOSE4AbD and PIU T, a mmspaper of general circulation printed and published in the City of Costa Mesa, together With the names of the members of the City Council voting for and against the same.
