AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA
AMENDING SECTIONS 3449, 3464 and 3465 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE
OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA TO PROHIBIT PARKING ON ARLINGTON
STREET, DESICNATE CERTAIN THROUGH STREETSp AND ESTABLISH
CERTAIN STOP INTERSECTIONS.
The City Council of the City of Costa Mesa does hereby ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 3449 of the Municipal Code of the City of Costa Mesa is
hereby amended by the addition thereto of the following:
"On both sides of Arlington Street from the easterly line of Fairview
Road to a point 2500 feet easterly thereof."
SECTION 2. Section 3464 of the Munic*l Code of the City of Costa Mesa is
hereby amended to read as follows:
�Sec. 3464 Through Streets Designated.
In accordance with the provisions of Section 3419 (a) and when signs are erected
giving notice thereof, drivers of vehicles shall stop at the entrance or entrances
to those intersections described as follows:
At all the entrances to:
BAKER STREET, between the west line of Bristol Street and the east line of Mesa
Verde Drive, EXCEPTING that eastbound traffic shall stop at Bristol Street and
Excluding the Harbor Boulevard intersection.
BROADWAY, between the east line of Newport Boulevard and the west line of Irvine
Avenue, EXCLUDING the Orange Avenue, Santa Ana Avenue, and Tustin Avenue
intersections.
CALIFORNIA STREET, from the southerly line of Iowa Street to the easterly line of
Dakota Avenue.
DEL MAR AVENUE, between the east line of Newport Boulevard and the west line of
Santa Ana Avenue.
EIGHTEENTH STREET, between the east line of Newport Boulevard and the west line
of Irvine Avenue, EXCLUDING Orange Avenue, Santa Ana Avenue and Tustin Avenue
intersections.
FAIR DRIVE, between the east line of Harbor Boulevard and the west line of Fair-
view Road.
FIFTEENTH STREET, westbound, between the east line of Newport Boulevard and the
westerly line of Tustin Avenue, EXCLUDING Orange Avenue and Santa Ana Avenue
intersections.
GISLER AVENUE, between the west line of Harbor Boulevard and the right of way of
the Orange County Flood Control District.
HARBOR BOULEVARD, between the northerly line of Talbert Avenue and the north-
westerly line of Newport Boulevard.
IRVINE AVENUE, southbound, between the southerly city limits and the northerly
city limits, EXCEPTING that southbound traffic shall stop at 16th Street, 17th
Street, and 19th Street.
MESA DRIVE, between the east line of Newport Boulevard and the west line of Santa
Ana Avenue.
MESA VERDE DRIVE, between the northerly line of Adams Avenue and the westerly
line of Country Club Drive.
MONTE VISTA AVENUE, between the easterly line of Newport Boulevard and the
westerly line of Santa Ana Avenue, EXCLUDING Orange Avenue intersection.
NEWPORT BOULEVARD -EAST, Frontage Road between the south line of 17th Street
and the southerly city limits, EXCEPTING that northbound traffic shall stop at 17th
Street, and both north and southbound traffic at 16th Street and the prolongation
of Industrial Way.
NINETEENTH STREET, between the east line of Newport Boulevard and the west line
of Irvine Avenue, EXCLUDING Orange Avenue, Santa Ana Avenue and Tustin Avenue
intersections.
ORANGE AVENUE, between the southerly city limits and the south line of Mesa Drive,
EXCEPTING that both north and southbound traffic shall stop at the following
intersections: 16th Street, 17th Street, 18th Street, Broadway, 19th Street,
20th Street, 22nd Street, 23rd Street and Del Mar Avenue.
PLACENTIA AVENUE, between the southerly city limits and the southerly line of

SANTA ISABEL AVENUE, between the east line of Newport Boulevard and the west line
of Santa Ana Avenue, EXCLUDING Orange Avenue intersection.
SANTA ANA AVENUE, between the southerly city limits and the northerly city limits,
EXCEPTING that southbound traffic shall stop at 15th Street, and both north and
southbound traffic at the following intersections: 16th Street, 17th Street,
18th Street, Broadway, 19th Street, 22nd Street, Monte Vista Avenue and Mesa
Drive intersections.
SEVENTEENTH STREET, between the easterly line of Newport Boulevard and the west
line of Irvine Avenue.
SIXTEENTH STREET, between the east line of Newport Boulevard and the west line of
Irvine Avenue, EXCLUDING Orange Avenue, Santa Ana Avenue and Tustin Avenue
intersections.
SUPERIOR AVENUE, between the southerly city limits and Newport Avenue, EXCEPTING
that northbound traffic shall stop at Newport Avenue.
TUSTIN AVENUE, between the southerly city limits and the northerly city limits,
EXCEPTING that southbound traffic shall stop at 15th Street and both north and
southbound traffic shall stop at the following intersections: 16th Street,
17th Street, 18th Street, Broadway, 19th Street.
TWENTIETH STREET, between the east line of Newport Boulevard and the west line of
Irvine Avenue, EXCLUDING Orange Avenue, Santa Ana Avenue and Tustin Avenue
intersections.
TWENTY-FIRST STREET, between the easterly line of Newport Boulevard and the
westerly line of Santa Ana Avenue, EXCLUDING Orange Avenue intersection.
TWENTY-SECOND STREET, between the easterly line of Newport Boulevard and the
westerly line of Santa Ana Avenue, EXCLUDING Orange Avenue intersection.
TWENTY-THIRD STREET, between the easterly line of Newport Boulevard and the
westerly line of Santa Ana Avenue, EXCLUDING Orange Avenue intersection.
VICTORIA STREET, between the westerly line of Newport Avenue and the westerly
city limits, EXCLUDING Harbor Boulevard and Placentia Avenue -intersections.
WILSON STREET, between the west line of Newport Avenue and the westerly city
limits, EXCLUDING Fairview Road, Harbor Boulevard and Placentia Avenue intersections. L

SECTION 3. Section 3465 of the Municipal Code of the City of Costa Mesa is
hereby amended to read as follows:
V Sec. 34465 Stop Intersections.
In accordance with the provisions of Section 3419 (b) and when signs are erected
giving notice thereof, drivers of vehicles shall stop at the entrance to those
intersections described as follows:
AnTAHFIM AVENUE, north and southbound at 18th Street, 19th Street and Center Street.
CECIL PLACE, east and westbound at Elden Avenue.
CENTER STREET, east and westbound at Anaheim Avenue.
CHURCH AVENUE, north and southbound at Walnut Street.
FAIRVIEW ROAD, north and southbound at Fair Drive.
HAMILTON STREET, east and westbound at Pomona Avenue.
MAPLE AVENUE, southbound at 19th Street.
MEYER PLACE, northbound at Hamilton Street, and southbound at 19th Street.
MONROVIA AVENUE, north and southbound at 19th Street.
NEWPORT AVENUE, Frontage Road north and southbound at 18th Street, 19th Street
Broadway extension, northbound at 16th Street and southbound at Industrial Way.
NINETEENTH STREET -(WEST), east and westbound at Placentia Avenue, Pomona Avenue,
Harbor Boulevard and Monrovia Avenue.
PARK AVENUE, southbound at 18th Street, north and southbound at Center Street,
and northbound at 19th Street.
PLLUM STREET, east and westbound at Anaheim Avenue.
POMONA AVENUE, north and southbound at Hamilton Street, 17th Street, 18th Street,
and 19th Street and southbound at 16th Street.
SEVENTEENTH STREET - (WEST), east and westbound at Monrovia Avenue.
WILSON STREET, east and westbound at Elden Avenue.
BAKER STREET, westbound at Bristol. L,
SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force thirty (30)
days from and after its passage, and prior to the expiration of fifteen (15) days
from the passage thereof shall be published once in the ORANGE COAST DAILY PILOT, a
newspaper of general circulation, printed and published in the City of Costa Mesa,
together with the names of the members of the City Council voting for and against
the same.
