A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, ADOPTING THE NEGATIVE
DECLARATION FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE BEAR
STREET SCHOOL SITE LOCATED AT 3100 BEAR STREET,
COSTA MESA.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE
AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, a Negative Declaration has been prepared for the proposed development of
the Bear Street School site; and
WHEREAS, a Negative Declaration was prepared in accordance with the California
Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), the State CEQA Guidelines, and the City of Costa Mesa
Environmental Guidelines; and
WHEREAS, the Negative Declaration was available to the public between June 12 and
July 10, 1995, for comment and review; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission conducted a public hearing on July 10, 1995, to
receive public testimony with respect to the Negative Declaration; and
WHEREAS, no written comments were received from the public during and after the
review period; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission reviewed and considered the information in the
Negative Declaration on July 10, 1995, and adopted Resolution No. PC -95-40 recommending
to the City Council adoption of the Negative Declaration; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa, California, has reviewed all
environmental documents comprising the Negative Declaration and has found that the Negative
Declaration considers all environmental impacts of the proposed project and is complete and
adequate and fully complies with all requirements of CEQA, the CEQA Guidelines, and the City
of Costa Mesa Environmental Guidelines; and
WHEREAS, the Negative Declaration reflects the independent judgement of the City of
Costa Mesa;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Costa
Mesa hereby adopts the Negative Declaration for the Bear Street School site as complete and
adequate in that it addresses all environmental effects of the project and fully complies with the
requirements of CEQA, the CEQA Guidelines, and the City of Costa Mesa Environmental
Guidelines.
The Negative Declaration shall be on file with the Development Services Department,
Planning Division, City of Costa Mesa, City Hall, 77 Fair Drive, Costa Mesa, California 92626.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 7th day of August, 1995.
