A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, ESTABLISHING A WAIVER OF PROCESSING FEES FOR CONDITIONAL USE PERMITS REQUIRED OF HOTELS AND MOTELS PURSUANT TO ORDINANCE NO. 97-7. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: WHEREAS, the City Council adopted Ordinance No. 97-7 on April 7, 1997, to require hotels and motels to obtain a conditional use permit when they convert from transient occupancies to long-term tenant occupancies; and WHEREAS, the temporary waiver of processing fees for conditional use permits required of hotels and motels pursuant to Ordinance No. 97-7 will serve to protect the public health, safety, and welfare because such waiver encourages prompt compliance with the Ordinance and furthers the objectives of the Newport Boulevard Specific Plan; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa does hereby waive the processing fees for all applications by hotels and motels for conditional use permits required pursuant to Ordinance 97-7 for a period of one (1) year commencing the effective date of such Ordinance.
