A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY

CONSOLIDATION OF THE ORANGE COUNTY WATER
DISTRICT WITH OTHER WATER DISTRICTS.
WHEREAS, the Orange County Water District was formed by a special act of
the California Legislature over 60 years ago; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the Orange County Water District is to manage the
Orange County groundwater basin for the benefit of the users, and to protect the
water rights of the users; and

Garden Grove, Tustin, and Westminster, as well as the East Orange County Water
District, The Irvine Company, Irvine Water District, Mesa Consolidated Water District,
Santiago County Water District, Serrano Irrigation District, Southern California Water
Company, and Yorba Linda Water District are major users of the Orange County

WHEREAS, the Orange County groundwater basin users recognize the unique
mission of the Orange County Water District and the past and present excellence and
success of the District; and

Orange County Water District;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Costa
