The City Council of the City of Costa Mesa does ordain as follows SECTION 1. Section 172 of Ordinance No. 44 is hereby amended by adding the following streets: At the intersection of Placentia and Nineteenth Street. At the intersection of 7ictoria Street and Placentia, at the intersection of West 19th Street and Pomona. SECTION 2, Section 174 of Ordinance No. 44 is hereby, amended by the addition of the following: .w. The West side of Newport Boulevard from Nutt Nineteenth Street to West Eighteenth Street. Rochester. The But side of Newport Boulevard from Nast Nineteenth Street to Both sides of Nast Eighteenth Street and Broadway, from Newport Boulevard to 7ullerton Street. Both sides of Harbor Boulevard from Newport Boulevard to West Nineteenth Street, SECTION 3. Section 160 of Ordinance No. 44 is amended thereto by adding the following streets: On Harbor Boulevard from the West city limits to Newport Boulevard - 35 MPH On West Nineteenth Street from Harbor Boulevard to Whittier - 35 MPH SECTION 4. There is hereby added to Ordinance No. 44 a new section, to be numbered 136 to read as follows: "Section 136. TAXI CAB ZOITE. When the chief of police :.as authorized under this Ordinance has caused curb markings to be placed by point- ing the curb red, together with letters marked *taxi cab stand*, no person, ex- cept taxi cabs shall stop, stand, or park a vehicle adjacent to any such curb marking.* There is hereby created a taxi cab sone at the following location: On the Nast side of Highway 55, Newport Boulevard, starting eighty (80) feet south of the crosswalk at the intersection of said Newport Boulevard and Broadway, and extending twenty (20) feet. -1- ORDINANCE NO. 74 SECTION 5. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an urgency measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, and safety. The following is a statement of facts constituting the urgency code. The City of Costa Mesa, being recently incorporated, has insuffi- cient traffic regulations to protect the safety of persons using its streets. Increased traffic necessitates the immediate passage of these traffic regula- tions in order to protect the lives and property of the citizens of Costa Mesa. SECTION 6. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately and within fifteen (15) days thereafter, this Ordinance, together with the names of the members of the City Council voting for and against the same, shall be published once in the Costa Mesa Globe Herald, a newspaper printed in the City of Costa Mesa.
