HomeMy WebLinkAbout79 - Terms of Office for Appointive, Boards, and CommissionsORDINANCE NO. 79 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, ESTABLISHING TERMS OF OFFICE FOR APPOINTIVE OFFICES, BOARDS AND CQKMISSIONS. The City Council of the City of Costa Mesa does ordain as followst SECTION 1. The City Clerk, City Treasurer and City Attorney shall each respectively be appointed for a two-year term except that persons holding said respective offices as of the date of this Ordinance shall be appointed for a term ending on the third Monday in April, 1956. SECTION 2. Each member of the City Planning Commission of the City of Costa Mesa shall be appointed for a two-year term,provided, however, that the terms of the present members of said Planning Commission shall terminate on the third Monday in April, 1955, and provided further that the members of the Planning Commission appointed on the third Monday in April, 1955, shall be appointed for the following termst four members shall be appointed for a one-year term and three members fora two-year term. SECTION 3. The Vehicle Parking District Commissioners and all other Boards and Commissions appointed by the City Council shall, except as otherwise specifically provided by the Council, be appointed for a term of two years; provided further that the present term of office for any existing Board or Commission shall terminate on the third Monday of April, 1955. SECTION 4, This Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force thirty (30) days from and after its passage; and prior to the expiration of fifteen (15) days from the passage thereof, this Ordinanoep together vith the names of the members of the City Council voting for and against the same, shall be published once in the Costa Mesa Globe Herald, a newspaper printed in the City of Costa Mesa.
