HomeMy WebLinkAbout84 - Intent to Vacate W. 18th StreetORDINANCE NO., AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY 07 COSTA MESA DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO ORDER THE VACATION OF A PORTION OF WEST 18TH STREET. WHA."MS, the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa has approved the reconstruction of that portion of West 18th Street intersecting Newport Avenue in the City of Costa Mesa, California, which proposed reconstruction necessitates the acquisition of a right of way of certain property owned by Raymond K. Eastman and Alice M. Eastman, and which said proposed reconstruc- tion is shown on a map on file in the office of the City Clert, and WHEREAS, a portion of the right of flay of said West 18th Street at its intersection with Newport Avenue is not now used for street purposes and will not be required under the proposed reconstruction, and WHEREAS, the City Council has received a request that a portion of said right of rosy be abandoned and that an easement be obtained over a portion of the lands owned by said Ustmans; NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa does ordain as follows: SECTION 1. The City Counoil of the City of Costa Mesa does hereby declare its intention to vacate that portion of West 18th Street, described as follows: "That portion of 18th Street as shown on a nap of Tract No. 18, recorded in Book 99 page 20 of Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange County, California, more particularly described as follows: Beginning at the point of intersection of the Northerly line of said 18th Street with a line parallel to and 50.00 feet Northwesterly of the centerline of Newport Avenue as said Newport Avenue is laid out and shown on said map of Tract No. 18, thence South 400 West along said parallel line ` to Newport Avenue 39.34 feet to the centerline of said 18th Street; thence South 890 42= West along the said centerline of 18th Street 23.19 feet; thence North 500 West along a line parallel to and 79.78 feet Southwesterly of the Northeasterly line of Lot 15, Block "C" of said Tract No. 18 a distance of 21.48 feet to the beginning of a curve concave Southerly and having a radius of 110 00 feet; thence Westerly along said curve through an angle of 158 41t 30" a distance of 30.12 feet to a point in the Northerly line of said 18th Street; thence North 890 421 East 90.36 feet to the point of beginning." and reference is hereby made to Map No. 3928, dated February 11, 1955, on file in the office of the City Clerk for further particulars as to said proposed imation. -1- SECTION 2. Monday, the lith day of April, 1955, at the hour of 7:30 P.M. , in the chambers of the City Council at the Justice Court, Newport Beach Judicial District, 567 W. 18th Street, Costa Mesa, California, is hereby fixed as.the time and place for hearing all person interested in or objecting to the proposed vacation. SECTION 3. The City Manager of the City of Costa Mesa is hereby directed to cause notices of the said proposed street vacation to be posted con- spicously along that part of the street proposed to be vacated at least ten (10) days before the date of said hearing. Said notices shall be posted not more than three hundred (300) feet apart, but in no event less than three (3) shall be posted. SECTION 4. This Ordinance, together with the names of the members of the City Council voting for and against the same shall be published once in the Costa Mesa Globe Herald, a newspaper printed and published in the County of Orange.
