AN OR 11UNCE OF TIE CITY OF COSTA MESA FORMING A VEHICLE PARKING
DISTRICT IN THE INCORPORATED TERRITORY IN THE CITY OF COSTA MESA,
CALIFORNIA, AND ORDERING THE ACQUISTION OF PARKING PLACES PURSUANT
TO THE VEHICLE PARKING DISTRICT LAW OF 190.
WMEAS, by Ordinance No. 119 of the City of Costa Mesa, hereinafter
referred to as the Ordinance of Intention, adopted the 23rd day of January, 1956,
the City CoLncil of the City of Costa Mesa declared its intention to form a
vehicle parking district in the incorporated territory in Costa Mesa and to order
the acquisitions described in said ordinance, all pursuant to the Vehicle Park-
ing Law 1943.
WIhEREa S, by said ordinance, Monday, the 5th day of March, 1956, at the
hour of 7:30 P.M., in the Council Chambers of the City Council of the City of
Costa Mesa at the Justice Court, 567 West Eighteenth Street, Costa Mesa, California,
was fixed as the time and place for the hearing of protests to the things therein
proposed to be done, the extent of the proposed district, or both.
WHEREAS, said ordinance having been published for•the time and in the
manner required by law, and copies thereof haveing been posted and mailed with-
in the time and in the manner required by law, and proof of such publication,
posting and mail-ing having been filed with the City Council of the City of
Costa Mesa.
WHEREAS, said matter came on regularly for hearing before the City
Council of the City of Costa Mesa on said 5th day of March, 1956, at the hour
and place fixed in said Ordinance of Intention, and said Council having heard
all protests and objections, both writtemland oral, and having heard and condaider-
ed all the evidence presented in said matter and being fully advised thereon.
=1 THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa does ordain
as follows:
SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Costa Mesa hereby finds
that owners of more than one half of the area of the property included within
the proposed district and subject to asses3ment have not made written objections
or protests to the things proposed to be done as an entirety.
SECTION 2. All protests and objections to the formation of the proposed
district, the extent Thereof, and to the things proposed to be done as described
in the Ordinance of Intention, are, and each of thea is hereby denied.
SECTION 3. The City Crnuncil of the City of Costa Mesa hereby finds
and determines that the public interest and necessity require the acquisitions
described in the Ordinance of Intention to which ordinance reference is hereby
made for full particulars relating to said acquisitions.
SECTION 4. The City Council of the City of Costa Mesa heraby declares
that a vehicle parking district wholly located in the incorporated territory
of the City of Costa Mesa as herainefter described is hereby formed pursuant
to the Vehicle Pa;:-kirg District Lav of 1943. The boundaries of said district
are hereby fixed, estlablishod and defined as follows:
Beginning at the most Southerly corner of Lot 16, Block A,
Tract 18, as said tract is laid out and sham on a map there-
of recorded, in Book 9, Page 20, Xisaellaneous Maps, Records
of Orange County, California; thence Northerly along the West-
erly line of Lot 16,end Northerly prolongation thereof to the
Southwesterly corner of Tract No. L23 as shorAi on a map there-
oV recorded in Book 17, Page 23, Miscellaneous Maps, Records
of Orange Countyy California thence Northerly along the West-
erly line of said Tract No. to the Northwest corner of Lot
1 of said Tract No. h28; thence Northerly along the Northerly
prolongation of the Westerly line of Tract No -428 and the
Westerly Line of. Lots 1 and 2 of Tract No. 809 as sh n on a
map thereof recorded in Book 24, Page 25, Miscellaneous Maps,
Records of Orange County, California; to the Northwest corner
of said Lot 2; thence Easterly along the Northerly line of said
Lot 2 and the Easterly prolongation thereof to the Easterly
line of the alley 20 feet in width; thence Northerly along said
` Easterly line 80 feet; thence Easterly pm-allel to the center
line of 19th Street 205.80 feet; thence Southerly parallel to
said East line of alley 210 feet to the center line of 19th
Street; thence Easterly along the center of 19th Street to the
Northeasterly prolongation of the Southeasterly line of said
Block A, Tract No. 18; thence Southwesterl;T along said North-
easterly prolongation and the said Southeasterly line to the
point of beginning.
SECTION.5. The vehicle parking district hereby formed shall be number-
ed, and the designation of the district shall be "Vehicle Parking District No.
2 of the City of Costa Mesa."
SECTION 6. The acquisition described in the 0--cinance of Intention
are hereby ordered to be made and performed, and the City Attorney of the City
of Costa Mesa is hereby authorized, empu,.ered and drected to bring an action
in the name of the City of Costa Mesa in the S2•perior Court of the Stato of
California, in and for the County of Orange, for the condemnation of the pro-
perty necessary and proposed to be acquired as described in the Ordinance of
Intention; provided, hoE;cvc-, that arW lard acquired by purchase or by gift need
not be included in the condemnation action, or ifincluded, need not be condemned.

SECTION 7. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force thirty
(30) days from and after its passage, and prior to the expiration of fifteen
(15) days from the passage thereof this ordinance, together with the names of
the members of the City Council voting for and against the came, shall be
published once in the Costa Mesa Golbe Herald, a newspaper printed in the City
of Costa Mesa.
PASSED and adopted this 19th day of March, 1956.

of the City of Costa Mesa, do hereby certify that at a regular meeting of the
City Council of the City of Costa Mesa, held on the 19th day of March, 1956,
the foregoing ordinance, containing seven sections, was considered section
by section, and that the said ordinance was then passed and adopted as a
whole by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmen Martin, Pinkley, Smith, Meyers and Nelson
NOES: Councilmen - None
ABSENTS Councilmen - None
