AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3.2 OF ARTICLE III OF ORDINANCE
NO. 32 OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, ETNTIELD "AN ORD-
INANCE OF THE CITY OF COSTA MASA ESTABLISHING LAND CLASSIFICA-
TIONS IN DISTRICTS 14ITHIN THE INCORPORATED TERRITORY OF THE CITY
OF COSTA MESA AND REGULATING THE USES OF PROPERTY THEREIN, ADOPT-
ING A MAP OF SAID DISTRICTS, DEFINING THE TERMS USED IN THIS ORD-
INANCE, PROVIDING FOR THE ADJUSTMENT, ENFORCEMENT AND AMENDMENT
HEREOF, PRESCRIBING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION HEREOF, AND REPEALING
ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES INCONSITENT AND IN CONFLICT
HERWITH.11
The City Council of the City of Costa Mesa does ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of Section 3.2 of Article
III of Ordinance No. 32 of the City of Costa Mesa, California, all that por-
tion of the following described premises are hereby placed and included in
the M -1-A zone, to -wit:
Blocks 28, 29, 30, 38 and 39 of "Fountain Addition to Fairview",
in the County of Orange, State of California. -as per map thereof
recorded in Book 29, at page 13, et seq. of MLseellaneous Records
of Los Angeles County, California;
ALSO, all those portions of the land in the streets adjoining said
lots as shown on said map, now abandoned, described as follows:
That portion of Maple Avenue extending Easterly from the East line
of Banana Street, to the center line of Citrus Street, and that
portion of the Northerly one-half of Maple Avenue extending East-
erly from said center line of Citrus Street to the vdest line of
Pomona Street; that portion of Plum Street extending Southerly
from the South line of Kent Avenue to the North line of Spruce
Avenue; that portion of Citrus Steet extending Southerly from the
South line of Kent Avenue to the center line of Maple Avenue, and
that portion of the Westerly one-half of Citrus Street extending
Southerly from said center line of Maple Avenue to the North line
of Spruce Avenue.
EXCEPTING THEREFROM the water mains laid on said Blocks 28, 29, 38
and 39, as reserved in the deeds from Geo. H. Clark et ux to
Elizabeth Maud Hill, dated November 19, 1906, and June 17, 1908,
respectively, and recorded in Book 135, at Page 45, and in Book
147, at Page 213, of Deeds, respectively, records of said Orange
County, and the Northerly 150 feet of blocks 28, 29, 30, which
will remain Zone A-1.
ALSO, all that certain land situated in the County of Orage, State
of California, described as follows:
That portion of Geo. W. Griffiths Subdivision of Fountain Addition
to Fairview, as shown on a map recorded in Book 4, page 26 of Miscel-
laneous Maps, records of Orange County, California, described as
follows:
Beginning at a point on the center line of Kent kvenue, now known
as Baker Street, distant South 880 511 15" "West 554.41 feet from
the intersection of said center line with the center line of New-
port Road, now known as Fairview Road, as shown on said Map; thence
South 880 51t 15" West along the center line of said Baker Street
a distance of 488.59 feet; thence South 10 08t 45" lest 356.00 feet
to the centerline of Maple Avenue, as shown on a map of Fountain
Addition to Fairview, recorded in Book 29, pages 13 to 16 inclusive,
of itiscellaneous Records of Los 4ngeles County, California;
thence South 880 511 15" Nest 817.83 feet along said center
line to the center line of Citrus Street as shown on said Map
of Fountain Addition to Fairview; thence South 10 101 42f1 East
149.88 feet along said center line to the Northerly line of the
First Addition to the Town of Fairview, as shown on a map re-
corded in Book 29, page 95 of Miscellaneous Records of Los
Angeles County, California; thence North 880 511 14" East along
said Northerly line and its Easterly prolongation a distance of
1302.33 feet; thence North 00 521 23" ;Nest 805.88 feet to the
point of beginning.
EXCEPTING THEREFROM THE South 12 feet of the East 325 feet
thereof, and the Northerly 190 feet of the Easterly 488.59 feet
thereof, which shall remain A-1.
SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force
thirty (30) days from and after its passage; and prior to the expiration of
fifteen (15) days from the passage thereof, this Ordinance together with the
names of the members of the City Council voting for and against the same, shall
be published once in the Costa Mesa Globe -Herald, a newspaper printed in the
City of Costa Mesa.
