A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING
THE APPLICATION FOR BICYCLE AND/OR
PEDESTRIAN FUNDS UNDER SB -821 AND APPROVING
THE ADOPTION OF ITS BICYCLE AND/OR
PEDESTRIAN PLAN.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE
AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, SB -821 provides that two (2) percent of each county's total Local
Transportation Fund be set aside annually and used to fund the development of bicycle and
pedestrian facilities; and
WHEREAS, the City of Costa Mesa has planned a bikeway system in conformance with
the specifications of CALTRANS' Planning and Design Criteria for Bikeways in California and
the Regional Transportation Plan; and
WHEREAS, the City of Costa Mesa desires to construct the master plan system and/or
pedestrian facilities within the City utilizing the funds available under SB -821;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
1. To adopt the bikeway system in conformance with the specifications of
CALTRANS' Planning and Design Criteria for Bikeways in California and the
Regional Transportation Plan;
2. To appoint Peter Naghavi, Manager, Transportation Services Division, as the
City's authorized signature and designated contact person; and
3. To apply funds available to the City of Costa Mesa allocated for bikeways and
pedestrian facilities (SB -821).
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 4th day of April, 1994.
