HomeMy WebLinkAbout93-61 - Measure M Funds for Newport Boulevardr 175 RESOLUTION NO. 93-61 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, REQUESTING THE ORANGE COUNTY TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY TO ALLOCATE MEASURE M FUNDS FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES ON NEWPORT BOULEVARD FROM BRISTOL STREET TO HOSPITAL ROAD. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: WHEREAS, the Orange County Transportation Authority approved a Measure M Streets and Roads Program for fiscal year 1993-94; and WHEREAS, the program includes $270,138.00 in fiscal year 1993-94 for a signal improvement project on Newport Boulevard form Bristol Street to Hospital Road. WHEREAS, the program additionally includes $68,000.00 in fiscal year 1992-93 from the Growth Management Area (GMA) "8" for the improvement; and WHEREAS, the City of Costa Mesa has adopted a General Plan Circulation Element which does not preclude implementation of the Master Plan of Arterial Highways within its jurisdiction; and WHEREAS, the City of Costa Mesa has awarded the contract for a component of the project on June 21, 1993, for $79,532.00; and the City of Costa Mesa has completed the required preparatory work in accordance with the standards required by the City and other affected jurisdictions involved with said project; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Costa Mesa hereby requests that the Orange County Transportation Authority allocate $35,789.40 of Measure M funds from the Signal Improvement Program, and allocate $35,789.40 of Measure M funds from the GMA Program for engineering services for improvements on Newport Boulevard to the City. This request is in conformance with the Measure M allocation process and does not exceed ninety (90) percent of the programmed amount or ninety (90) percent of the engineering services contract. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Costa Mesa agrees to fund any additional costs over the identified programmed Measure M dollars. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the remaining ten (10) percent of the engineering services contract amount in Measure M funds will be transferred to the City of Costa Mesa when completed, and when a final report on the project is accepted by the Orange County Local Transportation Authority. The City of Costa Mesa agrees to submit the final report to the Orange County Local Transportation Authority within ninety (90) days after the City's acceptance of the improvements.
