AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA
AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. U
The City Council of the City of Costa Mesa, California, does ordain
SECTION 1. There are hereby added to Article XII of Ordinance No.
44 of the City of Costa Mesa the following new Sections:
"SECTION 151. Truck Traffic Routes.
(A) Whenever this Ordinance designates and describes any street
or portion thereof as a street, the use of which is permitted by any vehicle
exceeding a maximum gross weight limit of three (3) tons, the City Traffic En-
gineer is hereby authorised to designate such street, or streets, by appropriate
signs, such as "TRUCK TRAFFIC ROUTE," for the movement of vehicles exceeding a
maximum gross weight limit of three (3) tons.
(B) When any such Truck Traffic Route or Routes are established
and designated by appropriate signs, the operator of any vehicle exceeding a
maximum gross weight limit of three (3) tons shall drive on such route, or routes,
and none other, except when necessary to traverse another street or streets to a
destination for the purpose of loading or unloading, but then only by such
deviation from the nearest truck route as is reasonably necessary.
The provisions of this Section shall not apply to passenger busses
under the jurisdiction of the public Utilities Commission, nor to school busses.
(C) Those streets and parts of streets described in Section 177 of
Article XIV of this Ordinance are hereby declared to be Truck Traffic Routes
for the movement of vehicles exceeding a maximum gross weight of three (3) tons.
SECTION 152. Commercial Vehicles Of Two M Tons Prohibited From
Using Certain Streets.
(A) Whenever this Ordinance designates and describes any street or
portion thereof as a street, the use of which is prohibited by any commercial
vehicle exceeding a maximum gross weight limit of two (2) tons, the City Traffic
Engineer shall erect and maintain appropriate signs on those streets affected.
(B) Those streets and portions of streets described in Section 178
- 1 -
of Article XIP of this Ordinance are hereby declared to be streets, the use of
which is prohibited by any commercial vehicle exceeding a maximum gross weight
limit of two (2) tons.
The provisions of this Section shall not apply to passenger busses
under the jurisdiction of the Public Utilities Commission, nor to school busses.'
SECTION 2. There is hereby added to Article XIV of Ordinance No.
44 of the City of Costa Mesa, the following new Section:
"SECTION 178. Commercial Vehicles Exceeding A Maximum Gross Weight
Limit of Two Qj Tons Prohibited. In accordance with Section 152, the follow-
ing streets and parts of streets are hereby declared to be streets, the use of
which is prohibited by any commercial vehicle exceeding a maximum gross weight
limit of two (2) tont
Fair Drive between Newport Boulevard and Fairview Road."
SECTION 3. Ordinance No. 36 of the City of Costa Mesa is hereby
repealed.
SECTION 4. Enactment. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
full force and effect thirty (30) days from and after its passage and prior to
the expiration of fifteen (15) days from its passage shall be published once in
the Costa Mesa Globe Herald, a newspaper of general circulation, printed and
published in the City of Costa Mesa, together with the names of the members of
the City Council voting for and against the same.

AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 44
The City Council of the City of Costa
Mesa, California, does ordain as fol-
lows:

hereby declared to be streets, the use
of which is prohibited by any com-
mercial vehicle exceeding a maximum
gross weight limit of two (2) tons:
Fair Drive between Newport Boule-
vard and Fairview Road."
SECTION 3. Ordinance No. 36 of the
City of Costa Mesa is hereby repealed.
SECTION 4. Enactment. This Ordin-
