HomeMy WebLinkAbout89-139 - Vacation of Public Streets bordered by Harbor at Newport Blvd/W. 19th St.J5 RESOLUTION NO. 89-139 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO ORDER THE VACATION OF PUBLIC STREETS IN THE AREA BORDERED BY HARBOR BOULEVARD, NEWPORT BOULE- VARD, AND WEST 19TH STREET. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Costa Mesa does hereby declare its intention to vacate streets in the area bordered by Harbor Boulevard, Newport Boulevard, and West 19th Street, as shown on a map attached and made a part hereof, identified as Exhibit "A", and more particularly described as follows: PARCEL 1: The Easterly 10 feet of Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 of Tract No. 428, as shown on a map thereof recorded in Book 17, Page 23 of Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange County, California; and the Westerly 10 feet of the Easterly 35.02 feet of Lot 20, Block A, of Tract No. 18, as shown on a map thereof recorded in Book 9, Page 20 of Miscellaneous Maps, Records of said Orange County. PARCEL 2: That certain Alley, 20 feet in width, of Block A, Tract No. 18, as shown on a map thereof recorded in Book 9, Page 20 of Miscel- laneous Maps, Records of said Orange County, California, the North- westerly and Southeasterly lines of said Alley run parallel with the Northwesterly line of Newport Avenue, and lie within the Easterly line of Fairview Avenue (now Harbor Boulevard) and the Southerly line of 19th Street. PARCEL 3: That portion of State road VII-Ora-43-crosa (Newport Avenue) relinquished to the City of Costa Mesa by the State of California, as described in Parcel 2 of a document thereof recorded in Book 2670, Pages 28 and 29, Official Records of said Orange County, California. Excepting therefrom all that road lying Southwesterly of Harbor Boule- vard and Northeasterly of 19th Street. SECTION 2. Monday, the 5th day of June, 1989, at 6:30 p.m., in the Council Chambers of City Hall, 77 Fair Drive, Costa Mesa, California, is hereby fixed as the time and place for hearing all persons interested in or objecting to the proposed vacation. SECTION 3. These proceedings shall be conducted pursuant to the pro- visions of Section 8300 et seq. of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California. SECTION 4. The City Manager of the City of Costa Mesa is hereby directed to cause notices of the said proposed vacation to be conspicuously posted along said strips of land for at least two (2) weeks before the date of said hearing. Said notices shall be posted not more than three hundred (300) feet apart, but in no event shall fewer than three (3) notices be posted. SECTION 5. This Resolution shall be published twice in the ORANGE COAST DAILY PILOT, a newspaper of general circulation printed and published in the City of Costa Mesa, Orange County, California.
