HomeMy WebLinkAbout90-81 - Vacation of Public Street at Newport Blvd and Old 17th StreetRESOLUTION NO. 90-81 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO ORDER THE VACATION OF A PUBLIC STREET LOCATED AT THE SOUTHEAST CORNER OF NEWPORT BOULEVARD AND OLD 17TH STREET. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Costa Mesa does hereby declare its intention to vacate a street located at the southeast corner of Newport Boulevard and old 17th Street, more particularly described as follows: PARCEL 1: That portion of Lot 82 in Newport Heights, in the City of Costa Mesa, County of Orange, State of California, as per map recorded in Book 4, Page 83 of Miscellaneous Maps, in the office of the County Recorder of said County, described as follows: Beginning at the most westerly corner of said Lot 82; thence south 50000'00" east 124.05 feet along the southwesterly line of said Lot 82 to the most southerly corner of the land described in the Deed to Fred Feinstein and wife recorded April 3, 1924, in Book 519, Page 97 of Deeds; thence north 40°00100" east 165.15 feet to the most southerly corner of the land described in the Deed to Emil Leonard Myrehn, Jr., a single man, recorded February 14, 1947, in Book 1479, Page 207 of Official Records; thence north 50000100" west parallel with the southwesterly line of said Lot 82 to the westerly line of said lot; thence southerly along said westerly line to the Point of Beginning. ALSO EXCEPT that portion of said land described in the Deed to the State of California, recorded May 11, 1953, in Book 2500, Page 404, Official Records. PARCEL 2: That portion of Lot 82 of Newport Heights, in the County of Orange, State of California, as per map recorded in Book 4, Page 83 of Miscellaneous Maps of said County, described as follows: Beginning at the intersection of the easterly line of County Road (60 feet wide) with the southwesterly line of 17th Street (60 feet wide), as shown on said map; thence along said southwesterly line, south 50015116" east, 108.27 feet; thence south 84144145" west, 21.21 feet; thence south 39044144" west 84.82 feet to the Point of Tangency of this course with a curve, concave southwesterly, having a radius of 140.00 feet; thence southwesterly, along said curve, through an angle of 26°07'04", an arc distance of 63.82 feet to the Point of Tangency thereof with a curve, concave easterly and having a radius of 3885.00 feet; thence southerly along said last mentioned curve, through an angle of 2°18105", an arc distance of 156.05 feet to the southwesterly line of said lot; thence along the southwesterly line of said lot, north 50015116" west 4.75 feet to the easterly line of said County Road; thence along said easterly line, northerly to said Point of Beginning. SECTION 2. Monday, the 3rd day of December, 1990, at 6:30 p.m., in the Council Chambers of City Hall, 77 Fair Drive, Costa Mesa, California, is hereby fixed as the time and place for hearing all persons interested in or objecting to the proposed vacation. SECTION 3. These proceedings shall be conducted pursuant to the pro- visions of Section 8300 et seq. of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California. %..W `._ SECTION 4. The City Manager of the City of Costa Mesa is hereby directed to cause notices of the said proposed vacation to be conspicuously posted along said strips of land for at least two (2) weeks before the date of said hearing. Said notices shall be posted not more than three hundred (300) feet apart, but in no event shall fewer than three (3) notices be posted. SECTION 5. This Resolution shall be published twice in the ORANGE COAST DAILY PILOT, a newspaper of general circulation printed and published in the City of Costa Mesa, Orange County, California.
