HomeMy WebLinkAbout91-81 - Revised Standards for Walls and Fences.v{Y RESOLUTION NO. 91-81 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, ADOPTING REVISED STANDARDS FOR WALLS AND FENCES. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOISg4V5: WHEREAS, the City Council gave first reading to Ordinance No. 91-27 on October 21, 1991; and WHEREAS, the ordinance specifies that various standards for design and location of walls and fences shall be adopted by resolution of the City Council; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Costa Mesa recommended to the City Council that modifications to the fence standards listed below, and shown on Exhibit "A" attached hereto, be adopted: 1. That solid, opaque walls and fences shall not exceed 2 feet, 6 inches within 10 feet of the front property line, but 6 -foot high pilasters, a maximum width of 18 inches with a minimum spacing of 8 feet, may be placed within the front 10 -foot setback. 2. That wrought iron or other non-opaque metal fencing be permitted within the front 10 -foot setback, not to exceed a maximum height of 6 feet. 3. That a notation as to acceptable setbacks for fences in industrial and commercial zones be included. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa that modifications to the fence standards listed above, and shown on attached Exhibit "A" shall became effective upon adoption of Ordinance No. 91-27, and that nothing in this resolution shall be construed as modifying or replacing the standards adopted under Resolution No. 87-47 for noise attenuation walls.
