A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, ESTABLISHING THE RATES OF
PAY FOR SWORN POLICE AND FIRE CLASSIFICATIONS AND
EMPLOYEES PLACED UNDER THE BASIC PAY SCHEDULE.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DETER-
MINE, AND ORDER AS FOLIagS:
SECTION 1. The following job classifications are hereby placed under
the Basic Pay Schedule at the pay ranges and monthly rates of pay specified,
effective June 30, 1991. The monthly rate of pay may also be in two and
one-half per cent (2.5%) increments between the monthly minimum and maximum
pay step.

SECTION 2.
Uniform Assignment
Applicable only to employees in the classifications of Senior Police
Officer, Police Sergeant and Police Lieutenant when permanently
assigned to perform a uniform patrol assignment in the Uniform Divi-
sion of the Police Department: 2.5% over assigned rate. Police
Officers currently receiving uniform assignment pay are eligible to
continue to receive this compensation until reassigned.
FTO Assignment
Applicable only to six employees in Patrol and one motorcycle trainer
while in their temporary assignment as designated by Police Department
management: 5% over assigned rate.
Motorcycle Assignment
Applicable only to employees in the classifications of Police Officer,
Senior Police Officer, and Police Sergeant when so assigned to motor-
cycle duty: 5% over assigned rate per shift.
Bilingual Pay
Applicable to employees in the job classifications determined by the
City Manager and when so assigned to use their bilingual abilities:
5% over assigned rate.
ITL
Paramedic Assignment
Applicable only to Fire Department personnel when assigned to the
Mobile Intensive Care Division:
10% above the monthly pay step of Firefighter when first assigned
11.25% above the monthly pay step of Firefghter after first recertifi-
cation in Orange County
12.50% above the monthly pay step of Firefighter after second recerti-
fication in Orange County
13.75% above the monthly pay step of Firefighter after third recerti-
fication in Orange County
Fire Administration Assignment
Applicable only to Fire Department employees in the job classification
of Firefighter, Firefighter Specialist and Fire Captain when designated
and assigned by the Fire Chief to administrative assignments: 5% over
assigned rate.
