RESOLUTION N0. 62-66 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR THE WORK DESCRIBED IN RESOLUTION OF INTENTION N0. 62-23• RESOLVED: That the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa, California, L at a regular meeting thereof held on the 7th day of May, 1962, publicly opened, examined and declared all sealed proposals or bids for the following work to be done in said City, to wit: The grading, paving, resurfacing, construction of curbs and gutters, cross gutters, spandrel, sanitary sewers, house connection sewers, manholes, water house connections, installation of water mains and reconstruction of existing water mains, installation of certain pipe and structures for drainage purposes, installation and relocation of certain fire hydrants, removal of obstructions, together with appurtenances, and appurtenant work in connection therewith, in Monrovia Avenue and certain other streets, alleys and easements, all as more particularly described in Resolution of Intention No. 62-23, and in plans, profiles, drawings and diagram for the construction of said improve- ments, being Plan No. 10, consisting of thirty-one (31) sheets, on file in the office of the City Engineer of said City of Costa Mesa, and reference is hereby made to the specifications for the said work heretofore adopted by the said City Council and on file in the Office of the City Clerk of said City, and all of said plans, profiles, drawings and specifications heretofore approved by the said City Council of the said City of Costa Mesa are hereby referred to for a more particular description of said work. Said City Council has determined and declared that the contemplated work and improvement heretofore mentioned was, in the opinion of the City Council, of more than local or ordinary public benefit and that said City Council has made the expense of said work and improvement chargeable upon the District. For the particular description of the said Assessment District reference is hereby made to said Resolution of Intention No. 62-23• Said City Council has determined and declared that serial bonds bearing interest at the rate of six (6$) per cent per annum and extending over a period ending nine (9) years from the second day of January next succeeding the next September First following their date, will be issued hereunder in the manner pro- vided by the "Improvement Act of 1911," Division 7 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, to represent each assessment of Fifty ($50.00) Dollars or more remaining unpaid for thirty (30) days after the date of the recorda- tion of the warrant. The redemption provisions of said bonds shall require the payment of a premium of five (5%) per cent of the unpaid principal, and the words "together with a premium of five (5%) per cent of said unpaid principal" shall be added after the redemption clause in the bond form of the bonds issued. All of the work herein ordered shall be done and carried through in pursuant of an Act of the Legislature of the State of California, designated the "Improvement Act of 1911, being Division 7 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California. Said City Council hereby rejects all of the said proposals and bids excepting the next hereinafter mentioned, and hereby awards the contract for said work and $mprovement to the lowest responsible bidder, to wit: Sully -Miller Contracting Company, at theprices named in said bid for said i work, on file in the Office of the City Clerk of said City. The City Clerk of said City is hereby directed to cause a Notice of Award of Contract to be published in the manner and form required by said Code, by two insertions in the Orange Coast Daily Pilot, a daily newspaper published and circulated in the said City of Costa Mesa, and hereby design- ated for the purpose by the said City Council, and said City Clerk shall record the Notice of Award of Contract in the Office of the County Recorder for Orange County, State of California, in the manner and form provided for in Section 5248 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California.
