A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF TEE CITY of COSTA MESA,
CALIFORNIA, DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO MAKE CHANGES IN THE
WORK PROPOSED TO BE DONE STATING THE AMOUNT OF THE ESTIMATED
INCREASE OR DECREASE IN THE COST OF THE WORK BY REASON OF
SAID CHANGES: GIVING NOTICE OF A TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING
OBJECTIONS TO SAID PROPOSED CHANGES IN CONNECTION WITH
MONROVIA AVENUE IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT. (ASSESSMENT DISTRICT
N0. 9)
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa did, on the 2nd
day of April, 1962, adopt Resolution No. 62-45, ordering the work to be done
pursuant to Resolution of Intention No. 62-23, adopted on the 5th day of March,
1962, for the grading, paving, and otherwise improving of Monrovia Avenue and
certain other streets, alleys and easements; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to said Resolution No. 62-45 ordering said work,
notice inviting sealed bids for the doing of said work was duly published in
the manner provided by law; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa, California, did,
on the 7th day of May, 1962, adopt Resolution No. 62-66, awarding the contract
for said work described in Resolution of Intention No. 62-23 to Sully -Miller
Contracting Company; and J
WHEREAS, the City Council of said City proposes, subject to written
consent of said Sully -Miller Contracting Company, the successful bidder to
whom said contract was so awarded, to order certain additional changes in the
work proposed to be done, to wit:
ADDITION -
The grading, paving with asphalt concrete over aggregate base and
seal coat, construction of curbs and gutters, cross gutters, removing obstruc-
tions and appurtenant work in connection therewith in the
STORM DRAIN EASEMENT
located between Sunset Drive and 18th Street, over and across the following
described property, to wit:
Parcel 1: i
A strip of land 20.00 feet in width lying within Lot r■
1106 of Newport Mesa Tract, as shown on a map thereof
recorded in Book 5, Page 1, Miscellaneous Maps records
of orange County, California, the Easterly line of which
is described as follows:
Beginning at the Northeasterly corner of Lot 1106,
thence Southerly along the Easterly line of Lot 1106 a
distance of 190.00 feet to a line 140.00 feet Northerly
of and measured at right angles and parallel with the
Southerly line of said Lot 1106.

The Westerly line of said strip of land 20.00
feet in width shall be lengthened or shortened so
as to terminate in the Northerly line of said Lot
1106, and the above described line 140.00 feet
Northerly of the Southerly line of Trot 1106. As
shown on a map attached hereto and made a part
of this description.
Parcel 2:
A strip of land 15.00 feet in width, being the
Easterly 15.00 feet of Lot 1105 of Newport Mesa Tract
as shown on a map thereof recorded in Book 5, Page 1
of Miscellaneous Maps, records of Orange County,
California; the Easterly line of which is described
as follows:
Beginning at the Northeasterly corner of Lot 1105,
said corner being 30.00 feet Southerly of the center
line of 18th Street measured along the Northerly pro-
longation of the Easterly line of Lot 1105, thence
Southerly along said Easterly line to the Southerly
line of Lot 1105. As shown on a map attached hereto
and made a part of this description.

A. Delete construction of storm drain channel and appurtenant work in
connection therewith in the easement located between Sunset Drive and 18th Street,
over and across the following described real property, to wit:
A strip of land 6.00 feet in width lying within Lot 1105 and
Lot 1106 of Newport Mesa Tract, as shown on a map thereof,
recorded in Book 5, page 1 of Miscellaneous Maps, Records of
Orange County, California, the Easterly line of which is described
as follows:
Beginning at the Northeasterly corner of Lot 1105 of said
Newport Mesa Tract, said corner being 30.00 feet Southerly of
the centerline of 18th Street, measured along the Northerly pro-
longation of the Easterly line of said Lot 1105, thence Southerly
along the Easterly line of Lot 1105 and Lot 1106 of said Newport
Mesa Tract 490.0 feet, to a line 140.00 feet northerly of,
measured at right angles, and parallel with the Southerly line
of said Lot 1106. The Westerly line of said strip of land, 6.00
feet in width, shall be lengthened or shortened so as to termin-
ate in the Northerly line of said Lot 1105 and a line 140.00 feet

1. The street grades to be changed from the grade shown on
the original Sheet #3 of Plan No. 10, on file in the Office
of the City Engineer and the City Clerk of said City, to
the grade as shown on Amended Sheet No. 33 of said Plan..... None
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa, California,
does hereby resolve and determine as follows:
Section 1. That the City Council proposes, subject to the written consent
of the Sully -Miller Contracting Company, to make the changes in the work proposed
to be done as specifically above set forth.
Section 2. That the amount of the estimated increase in the cost of the work
by reason of the said proposed changes is none; that the amount of the estimated
decrease in the cost of the work by reason of said proposed changes is $5,688.80.
Section 3. NOTICE IS HMUMY GIVEN that the 18th day of June, 1962, at the
hour of seven -thirty (7:33 o'clock p.m., in the Council Chambers of the City
Council in the Costa Mesa City Hall, located at 695 West 19th Street, in said City
of Costa Mesa, is hereby set as the time and place when and where any interested
persons having any objections to the changes proposed to be made may appear and
show cause why said changes should not be made.
