HomeMy WebLinkAbout62-96 - Urging Relocation of Pacific Electric Tracks;x:34 RESOLUTION N0. 62-96 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA URGING THE RELOCATION OF THE TRACKS OF THE PACIFIC ELECTRIC RAILWAY COMPANY WESTERLY OF HARBOR BOULEVARD AT HUNTZINGER AVENUE. WHEREAS, the increasingly rapid expansion of the City of Costa Mesa in a northerly direction requires that steps be taken to prepare the area lying between Gisler and Huntzinger Avenues, east of Harbor Boulevard, for development; and WHEREAS, the Pacific Electric Railway Company proposes to relocate its tracks in this area to cross Huntzinger Avenue at a point approximately 1200 feet east of Harbor Boulevard; and WHEREAS, this Council deems it to be in the best interest of the City that this relocation be completed as soon as possible in order that the planned development of the area may proceedy NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa, that the relocation of said Pacific Electric Railway Company tracks be, and the same is hereby, urged to be expedited in every possible manner; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the said Pacific Electric Railway Company is hereby requested to abandon and remove the existing crossing of Huntzinger Avenue at Harbor Boulevard, as soon as the proposed relocation can be completed.
