RESOLUTION NO. 64-36
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA
PROTESTING THE ARBITRARY FREIGHT RATES NOW APPLICABLE IN
THE COSTA MESA AREA.
WHEREAS, the population of the City of Costa Mesa has almost doubled
in the past six years; and
WHEREAS, industrial, manufacturing and retail establishments have in-
creased approximately 12%; and
WHEREAS, the volume of motor freight traffic, in the past six years, has
increased approximately 24O%) and
WHEREAS, the Arbitrary Freight rate is hindering the development of
further industry and business in Costa Mesa; and
WHEREAS, the Arbitrary Freight rate is penalizing Costa Mesa industrial
and retail businesses in their competition with nearby areas; and
area;
WHEREAS, Orange County as a whole has been designated a Metropolitan
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Costa Mesa favors and urges
that the motor freight rates be equalized with the rates applying to Santa Ana,
Anaheim, Fullerton, Garden Grove, Orange, Tustin and other bordering cities
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 20th day of April, 1964.

and foregoing Resolution No. 64-36 was duly and regularly passed and adopted
by the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa at a regular meeting thereof held
on the 20th day of April, 1964.
