REsoIATION No. 63-63
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA,
CALIFORNIA, OPPOSING ASSEMBLY BILL 1194.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa, California, does
hereby vigorously oppose Assembly Bill No. 1194 for the following reasons:
The cost of maintaining the same type of fire protection would
increase over fifty (50%) percent and would require many additional personnel.
Farther, due to the manner in which the shifts of firemen are organized,
the 54 -hour week would result in Fire Department employees working for fewer
hours on active duty than any other department in the City.
For the foregoing reasons, the City Council of the City of Costa
Mesa respectfully requests your support in opposition to Assembly Bill 1194.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 3rd day of June, 1963.
