HomeMy WebLinkAbout65-02 - Arterial Highway Financing - Baker Street:3fi5 RESOLUTION NO. 65-2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA REQUESTING THE COUNTY OF ORANGE TO INCLUDE WITHIN THE ARTERIAL HIGHWAY FINANCING PROGRAM THE DEVELOPMENT OF BAKER STREET. WHEREAS, the City of Costa Mesa desires to improve Baker Street at Delhi Drainage Channel; and WHEREAS, Baker Street is an important artery in the County of Orange and of general County interest; and WHEREAS, Article 2 and Article 3, Chapter 9, Division 2 of the Streets and Highways Code authorizes a County, if it so desires, to expend funds apportioned to it out of the California Highway Users Tax Fund for aid to any City in the improvement, construction or repair of a street within a City; and WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors intends to, by appropriate action, pro- vide in the County Budget of the Special Improvement Fund for the Fiscal Year 1965-1966, a sum of money for the improvement of streets within the incorpo- rated cities of the County in accordance with the Orange County Arterial High- way Financing Program; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa hereby requests the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange to allo- cate to said City from County funds the amount of $41,000.00, said amount to be matched by funds from said City, to be used by said City in the improvement of Baker Street at Delhi Drainage Channel, said improvements to be in accordance with the attached project statement; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange is hereby requested to find that said work on Baker Street, in the manner provided, is in the general County interest; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, by this Resolution, the City of Costa Mesa agrees with the basic concepts of the Arterial Highway Financing Program; and further agrees that its share of the cost of improvements will be available for the Fiscal Year, 1965-1966.
