A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA,
CALIFORNIA, DECLARING ITS OPPOSITION TO THE CONSTRUCTION OF
A BRIDGE ACROSS THE SANTA ANA RIVER AT GISLER AVENUE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa, California, deems
it to the best interests of the City to adopt a long-range plan for the streets
and highways within the City of Costa Mesa; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has adopted its Master Plan for streets and
highways; and
WHEREAS, said Master Plan shows Gisler Avenue, west of Harbor Boulevard,
as a secondary street; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to go on record opposing the construction
of a bridge across the Santa Ana River on Gisler Avenue within the forseeable
future;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA DOES HEREBY
DECLARE its opposition to the construction of a bridge across the Santa Ana
River at Gisler Avenue in the forseeable future.
IT IS FURTHER DECLARED that it is the policy of the City Council that it
will not participate in or give its consent to the construction of a bridge
across the Santa Ana River at Gisler Avenue without first holding a full and
complete hearing on the matter, after notice duly given, and without receiving
the substantial support of the vast majority of the people most directly concerned,
to wit: those persons residing in the vicinity and general area of said Gisler
Avenue and Santa Ana River area.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 15th day of September, 1964.

I, C. K. PRIEST, City Clerk and ex -officio Clerk of the City Council
of the City of Costa Mesa, California, do hereby certify that at a special
meeting of the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa held on the 15th day of
September, 1964, the foregoing Resolution No. 64-89 was considered and that
said resolution was then passed and adopted as a whole by the following roll
call vote, to wit:
AYES: COUNCILMEN: Barck, Jordan, Wilson
NOES: COUNCILMEN: None
ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: Meyers, Pinkley
