RESOLUTION NO. 64-104
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA
ACTING AS THE SUPERVISING AUTHORITY OF THE COSTA MESA RECREATION
AND PARK DISTRICT DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO ANNEX CERTAIN
TERRITORY TO SAID DISTRICT AND FIXING TIME AND PLACE FOR
HEARING OF PROPERTY OWNERS WITHIN THE AREA PROPOSED TO BE
ANNEXED.
WHEREAS, the owners of more than one-half of the hereinafter described
territory by area and by assessed valuation as shown on the last
equalized
assessment roll of the County of Orange have expressed themselves as desirous
of having said area annexed to the Costa Mesa Recreation and Park District; and
WHEREAS, said proposed annexation has been approved as to definiteness
and certainty of boundaries by the Orange County Boundary Commission, and further
submitted to and approved by the Local Agency Formation Commission of the County
of Orange; and
WHEREAS, this Council, acting as Supervising Authority for the Costa Mesa
Recreation and Park District, deems it to be in the best interest of the District
that said territory be annexed to and made a part of said District;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA
MESA, ACTING AS THE SUPERVISING AUTHORITY OF THE COSTA MESA RECREATION AND PARK
DISTRICT, as follows:
Y SECTION 1. That it is the intention of this City Council, acting as the
Supervising Authority of the Costa Mesa Recreation and Park District, to annex
the following described territory, contiguous to said District in the County of
Orange, to said District.
Beginning at an angle point in the existing boundary of the City of
Costa Mesa as said boundary is described in the Woodland No. 2
Annexation to the City of Costa Mesa, California, adopted May 17, 1964,
by Ordinance No. 64-21, said point being the most southerly corner of
Lot 256 of Newport Heights and the northwesterly line of Tustin Avenue,
60 feet in width, as shown on a map of said Newport Heights, recorded
in Book 4, page 83 of Miscellaneous Maps, records of Orange County,
California; thence along the existing boundary of the City of Costa
Mesa and the southwesterly line of said Lot 256, North 500 West,
327.00 feet to an angle point in the existing boundary of the City
of Costa Mesa as described in the Kaiser No. 1 Annexation to the City
of Costa Mesa, California, adopted November 16, 1961, by Ordinance No.
398; thence North 400 East, 300.15 feet along the existing boundary of
the City of Costa Mesa to an angle point in said Kaiser No. 1
Annexation; thence South 500 East, 327.00 feet along the existing
boundary of the City of Costa Mesa and the northeasterly line of said
Lot 256 to the northwesterly line of Tustin Avenue; thence South 400
West, 300.15 feet along said northwesterly line of Tustin Avenue to
the point of beginning.
SECTION 2. That said territory is hereby designated and identified as
"KAISER NO. 3 ANNEXATION" to the Costa Mesa Recreation and Park District.
SECTION 3• NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on the 2nd day of November, 1964,
at the hour of 7:30 o'clock p.m., or as soon thereafter as the matter may be
heard, in the Council Chamber at the City Hall, 695 West 19th Street, Costa Mesa,
California, any person owning real property within said territory so proposed to
be annexed and having any objection to the proposed annexation may appear before
L said City Council and show cause why such territory should not be annexed. Such
protests must be in writing and shall state the name or names of the owner of the
property affected by such annexation and the location and area of such property
in general terms. Unless more than one (1) per cent of the total number of
voters living within the territory proposed to be annexed have, at or prior to
said hearing, filed written objection to said annexation, the question of annexa-
tion shall not be submitted to the voters living within the territory at an
election.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution
and cause notice of the proposed annexation to be published at least once a week
for two successive weeks in the Orange Coast Daily Pilot, a newspaper of general
circulation printed and published in the City of Costa Mesa.

and foregoing Resolution No. 64-104 was duly and regularly passed and adopted by
the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa at a regular meeting held on the 5th
day of October, 1964.
