HomeMy WebLinkAbout876 - Urging Protection and Defense of Constitution113 RESOLUTION N0. 876 A RESOLUTION OF TEE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA APPROVING THE PROTECTION AND DEFENSE OF THE CONSTITUTION AND BILL OF RIGHTS OF THE UNITED STATES. WHEREAS, there has been presented to this City Council a certain document, bearing the signature of Norman L. Kellogg, entitled: "A DECLARATION FOR SURVIVAL OF THE UNITED STATES TO PROTECT AND DEFEND , THE CONSTITUTION AND BILL OF RIGHTS", a copy of which is attached here- to; and WHEREAS, this Council deems it to be in the best interest of the City that every effort be made to protect and defend the Constitu- tion and Bill of Rights of this Nation; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa that said Declaration, urging the protection and defense of the Constitution and Bill of Rights of the United States, be, and the same is hereby, approved; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk of the City of Costa Mesa is hereby directed to transmit copies of this Resolution and said Declaration to Senators Thomas H. Kuchel and Clair Engle, and to Congresaman Jsmes B. Utt. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 7th day of August, 1961.
