RESOLUTION NO. 860
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA
MESA .ORDERING THE VACATION OF CERTAIN STREET AND ALLEY
RIGHTS OF WAY IN PROPERTY OF THE COSTA MESA UNION
SCHOOL DISTRICT WITHIN BLOCK "C" OF TRACT N0. 612 IN
THE CITY OF COSTA MESA.
LWHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa did, on the 5th
day of June, 1961, pass and adopt Ordinance No. 363, entitled: "AN ORDINANCE
OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA DECLARING ITS INTENTION 1'0
ORDER THE VACATION OF CERTAIN STREET AND ALLEY RIGHTS OF WAY IN PROPERTY
OF THE COSTA MESA UNION SCHOOL DISTRICT WITHIN BLACK "C" OF TRACT N0. 612
IN THE CITY OF COSTA MESA"; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to said Ordinance of Intention the time and place
for hearing of all persons interested in or objecting to the proposed
vacation "a set for Monday, the 3rd day of July, 1961, at the hour of
7:30 o'clock p.m., in the Council Chambers of the Costa Mesa City Hall,
695 West 199th Street, Costa Mesa, California; and
WHEREAS, notices of said proposed vacation were duly and regularly
posted as required by law, all pursuant to Sections 8300-8308, inclusive,
Lof the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California; and
WHEREAS, said date of hearing coming on regularly to be heard,
all persons appearing on the proposed vacation were heard; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa finds and
determines, from all the evidence submitted, that the hereinafter described
rights of way for street and alley purposes are unnecessary for present or
prospective street or alley purposes;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA DOES
ORDER AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the hereinafter described rights of way are unnecessary
for present or prospective street and alley purposes.
2. It is hereby ordered that the following described rights of way
be, and the same are hereby, vacated:
A portion of Block "C" of Tract No. 612, as shown on a map thereof,
recorded in Book 20, pages 1 and 2, of Miscellaneous Maps, Records
of Orange County, California, described as follows:
Parcel A. A strip of land 60.00 feet in width, 30.00 feet on
both sides of and adjoining the following described centerline:
Beginning at the intersection of the extension of the southerly
line of Lot 6 with the centerline of an alley shown on a map
of said Tract No. 612 in Block "C" thereof; thence northerly
along said alley centerline to an intersection with the extension
of the southerly line of Hamilton Street, 60.00 feet in width.
Parcel B. That land bounded by the following described line:
Beginning at the intersection of the westerly line of Parcel A.
described above, with the southerly extension of Hamilton Street;
thence westerly along said southerly line to the point of tangency
with a curve having a radius of 15.00 feet, concave southwesterly;
thence southeasterly along said curve to its point of tangency
with the westerly .line of said Parcel A; thence northerly along
said westerly line to the point of beginning.
Parcel C. That land bounded by the following described line:
Beginning at the intersection of the easterly line of Parcel A,
described above, and the southerly extension of Hamilton Street;
thence easterly along said southerly line to its point of tangency
with a curved line having a radius of 15.00 feet, concave south-
easterly; thence southwesterly along said curved line to its
point of tangency with the easterly line of Parcel A; thence
northerly along said easterly line to the point of beginning.
Parcel D. A strip of land 20.00 feet in width shown as an
alley on said map of Tract No. 612 in Block "C" thereof,
extending from the extension of the southerly line of Lot 12 to the
extension of the southerly line of Lot 6 of said block and tract.
Parcel E. A strip of land 20.00 feet in width, being the easterly
20.00 feet of Lot 9 in said Block "C" of said Tract No. 612.
RESERVING THEREFROM and subject to all existing rights of public
agencies and public utilities for any and all utility purposes
granted or actually in we as this date, under, over, or along
said property, and whether recorded or unrecorded.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 3rd day of July, 1961.
