HomeMy WebLinkAbout98-93 - Revising the pay ranges for job classifications represented by the Costa Mesa Police Association to reflect102 RESOLUTION NO. 98-93 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, REVISING THE PAY RANGES FOR JOB CLASSIFICATIONS REPRESENTED BY THE COSTA MESA POLICE ASSOCIATION TO REFLECT THE ESTABLISHED LABOR MARKETPLACE PURSUANT TO THE 1996-1999 MOU AND EXTEND THE PERIOD OF INITIAL PROBATIONARY APPOINTMENT. The City Council of the City of Costa Mesa does hereby resolve, determine, and order as follows: SECTION 1. The following job classifications are hereby established and placed under the Basic Pay Schedule at the pay ranges and monthly rates of pay specified effective August 30, 1998. The monthly rate of pay may also be in two and one-half percent (2.5%) increments between the monthly minimum and maximum pay step. In addition, the City pays the employees' nine percent (9%) retirement contribution to the Public Employees' Retirement System (PERS). New employees hired into the classification of Police Officer subsequent to the adoption date of this resolution will be required to serve an initial probationary period of 18 months of continuous service. Rule 11, Section 2 of the City's Personnel Rules and Regulations will be amended to reflect this change. SECTION 3. All parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby rescinded.
