RESOLUTION No. 717
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA
OF INTENTION TO ANNEX A CERTAIN UNINHABITED AREA DESIGNATED
AS "HARBOR NO. 2 ANNEXATION", AND GIVING NOTICE THEREOF.
WHEREAS, there is situated outside of and contiguous to the City of Costa
Mesa a certain uninhabited area as hereinafter Imre particularly described; and
WHEREAS, the owners of all the land and territory by area and by assessed
valuation as shown on the last equalized assessment roll of the County of Orange
have expressed themealves as desirous of having the same annexed with the City of
Costa Mesa; and
WHEREAS, it would be for the best interest of the City of Costa Mesa to
annex the said hereinafter described property; and
WHEREAS, there has been submitted, on or about the 14th day of March, 1960,
to the Orange County Boundary Commission, a legal description and plat of the said
hereinafter described uninhabited area, for its approval, pursuant to Section
35002 of the Government Code of the State of California; and
WHEREAS, the approval of said Boundary Commission has been secured and
reported upon by the said Boundary Commission with respect to the definiteness and
certainty of the proposed boundaries;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa,
a City of the Sixth Class, to annex the said real property as hereinafter described,
which said real property is contiguous to the present boundaries of the City of Costa
Mesa, and which property is, at the present time, uninhabited.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that it is proposed by the City of C6sta Mesa to annex
the hereinafter described real property to the City of Costa Mesa, which said real
property shall, in these proceedings, be known as Annexation No. 42 to the City of
Costa Mesa, and bear the name "HARBOR NO. 2 ANNEXATION". The specific description
of the boundaries of the territory proposed to be annexed is as follows:
Beginning at a point in the existing boundary of the City of
Costa Mesa, said point being the intersection of the northerly
line of Talbert Avenue, 60.00 feet wide, with a line parallel
to and 40.00 feet, measured at right angles, westerly of the
centerline of Harbor Boulevard; thence easterly, 80.00 feet,
along the easterly prolongation of said North line of Talbert
Avenue to a point 40.00 feet, measured at right angles, easterly
of the centerline of Harbor Boulevard, said point also being
on the existing boundary of the City of Santa Ana; thence
southerly along the existing boundary of the City of Santa Ana

parallel to and 40.00 feet, measured at right angles, easterly
of the centerline of Harbor Boulevard to the westerly pidongation
of the southerly line of Huntzinger Avenue, said prolongation
being the existing boundary of the City of Costa Mesa; thence
westerly, 80.00 feet, along said westerly prolongation of the
southerly line of Huntzinger Avenue and the existing boundary
of the City of Costa Mesa, to aline parallel to and 40.00
feet, measured at right angles, westerly of the centerline
of Harbor Boulevard; thence northerly along said parallel line
and the existing boundary of the City of Costa Mesa to the
point of beginning.
FUTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that on the 18th day of April, 1960, at the
hour of 7;30 o'clock p.m. on said day, or as soon thereafter as the matter may be
heard, at the Council Chambers in the City Hall of the City of Costa Mesa, 695 West
19th Street, Costa Mesa, California, a hearing will be had, at which hearing the
City Council shall hear and pass upon all written protests filed at any time before
said hour set for said hearing by any person owning real property within the territory
so proposed to be annexed, and at any time before the said hour set for said hearing
any owner of property within the territory proposed to be annexed may file a written
protest against the annexation. The protest shall set forth the name of the owner
of the property affected and give a description of the said property in general terms.
The City Clerk of the City of Costa Mesa is hereby directed and authorized to

cause a copy of this Resolution to be published once a week for two weeks prior to
said hearing in the GLOBE -HERALD and PILOT, a newspaper of general circulation printed
and published in the City of Costa Mesa.

I, A. C. SWARTZ, City Clerk of the City of Costa Mesa, hereby certify
that the above and foregoing Resolution No. 717 was duly and regularly passed and
adopted by the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa at a regular meeting thereof
held on the 21st day of March, 1960.
