HomeMy WebLinkAbout718 - Mesa Verde No. 3 Annexation - Intent to Annex155 RESOLUTION NO. 718 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA OF INTENTION TO ANNEX A CERTAIN UNINHABITED AREA DESIGNATED AS MESA VERDE N0, 3 ANNEXATION, AND GIVING NOTICE THEREOF. WHEREAS, there is situated outside of and contiguous to the City of Costa Mesa a certain uninhabited area as hereinafter more particularly described; and WHEREAS, the owners of all the land and territory by area and by assessed valuation as shown on the last equalized assessment roll of the County of Orange have expressed themselves as desirous of having the same annexed with the City of Costa Mesa; and WHEREAS, it would be for the best interest of the City of Costa Mesa to annex the said hereinafter described property; and WHEREAS, there has been submitted, on or about the 14th day of March, 1960, to the Orange County Boundary Commission, a legal description and plat of the said hereinafter described uninhabited area, for its approval, pursuant to Section 35002 of the Government Code of the State of California; and WHEREAS, the approval of said Boundary Commission has been secured and reported on by the said Boundary Commission with respect to the definiteness and certainty of the proposed boundaries; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa, a City of the Sixth Class, to annex the said real property as hereinafter described, which said real property is contiguous to the present boundaries of the City of Costa Mesa, and which property is, at the present time, uninhabited. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that it is proposed by the City of Costa Mesa to annex the hereinafter described real property to the City of Costa Mesa, which said real property shall, in these proceedings, be known as Annexation No. 41 to the City of Costa Mesa, and bear the name "MESA VERDE NO. 3 ANNEXATION;. The specific description of the boundaries of the territory proposed to be annexed is as follows; That portion of Section 4, Township 6 South, Range 10 West, in the lands allotted to Eduardo Pollereno in decree of partition of the Rancho Santiago de Santa Ana, record in Book B of Judgements of the 17th Judicial District Court of Los Angeles County, State of California, in the County of Orange, State of California, described as follows: Beginning at a point in the existing boundary of the City of Costa Mesa, said point being the southeasterly comer of that certain parcel of land conveyed to Adolph and Mary Slechta on June 17, 1957, by deed recorded in Book 3943, pages 321 to 323 inclusive, records of said Orange County; thence southerly along the existing boundary of the City of Costa Mesa 156 South 00 38' 57" East 712.70 feet; thence leaving the existing boundary of the City of Costa Mesa North 460 46' 00" West 690.28 feet; thence North 400 31' 53" West 152.35 feet; thence North 290 54' 49" West 83.17 feet; thence North 600 05' 11" East 68.83 feet to the beginning of a tangent curve concave northwesterly and having a radius of 840.00 feet; thence northeasterly along said curve through a central angle of 20 19' 12" an arc distance of 34.01 feet to a point in the existing boundary of the City of Costa Mesa and the southerly line of said parcel conveyed to Adolph and Mary Slechta; thence easterly along said last mentioned southerly line North 890 59' 35" East 546.54 feet to the point of beginning. FURTHER NOTICE IS HERESY GIVEN, that on the 18th day of April, 1960, at the hour of 7:30 o'clock p.m. on said day, or as soon thereafter as the matter my be heard, at the Council Chambers in the City Hall of the City of Costa Mesa, 695 West 19th Street, Costa Mesa, California, a hearing will be had, at which hearing the City Council shall hear and pass upon all written protests filed at any time before said hour set for said hearing by any person owning real property within the territory so proposed to be annexed, and at any time before the said hour set for said hearing any owner of property within the territory proposed to be annexed may file a written protest against the annexation. The protest shall set forth the name of the owner of the property affected and give a description of the said property in general terms. The City Clerk of the City of Costa Mesa is hereby directed and authorized to J cause a copy of this Resolution to be published once a week for two weeks prior to said hearing in the GLOBE -HERALD and PILOT, a newspaper of general circulation, priniedj and published in the City of Costa Mesa.
