RESOLUTION NO. 748
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA,
CALIFORNIA, REQUESTING THE COSTA MESA COUNTY WATER DISTRICT
TO FURNISH THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA PLANS
AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR ADEQUATE AND APPROPRIATE CONDUITS,
PIPES, HYDRANTS, WATER SERVICE HOUSE CONNECTIONS AND OTHER
APPURTENANCES NECESSARY FOR THE DISTRIBUTION OF DOMESTIC
WATER SUPPLY IN THE IMPROVEMENT KNOWN AND DESIGNATED AS THE
IMPROVEMENT OF SANTA ANA AVENUE AND CERTAIN OTHER STREETS,
ALLEYS AND EASEMENTS IN THE CITY OF COSTA MESA (ASSESSMENT
DISTRICT NO. 8).
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa did, on the 4th day
of April, 1960, pass Resolution No. 720 determining the nature, location and extent
of the improvement known and designated as "The Improvement of Santa Ana Avenue
and Certain Other Streets, Alleys and Easements in Said City (Assessment District
No. 8)," and instructing Laurence J. Thompson, Assessment Engineer, to prepare a
written report in accordance with Section 2825 of the Streets and Highways Code; and
WHEREAS, said Assessment Engineer did, on the 18th day of April, 1960,
file said report with the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa, and said City
Council did, on said date, adopt its resolution approving said report; and
said report shows that the work to be done includes the installation
of water mains and appurtenances, water service house connections, hydrants and
other appurtenances necessary for the distribution of domestic water supply in the
territory in which the work is proposed; and
WHEREAS, the supplying and distribution of the domestic water supply in the
territory in which said work is proposed to be done is in part in charge of and
under the management and control of the Costa Mesa County Water District, a public
agency; and
WHEREAS, Sections 5170 through 5174 of the Streets and Highways Code of the
State of California, being a part of the "Improvement Act of 1911", the act under
which the proposed improvement and work is to be done, require the public agency
having charge of the supply and distribution of domestic water supply in the dist-
rict about to be improved, to furnish the plans and specifications therefor;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa does hereby
resolve as follows:
SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Costa Mesa does hereby request
the Costa Mesa County Water District, the public agency having charge of the supply
and distribution of the domestic water supply in a portion of the district proposed

to be improved, to wit: the district known and designated as "The Improvement
of Santa Ana Avenue and Certain Other Streets, Alleys and Easements in Said City,"
to furnish to the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa, as required by Section
5171 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, plans and spec-
ifications for adequate and appropriate conduits, pipes, hydrants and other app-
urtenances necessary for the supplying and distributing of the domestic water
supply in said district.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 20th day of June, 1960.
