HomeMy WebLinkAbout766 - Junipero Drive Freeway Connection - Asking ConsentO RESOLUTION No. 766 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA REWESTING THE CALIFORNIA HIGHWAY COMMISSION TO CONSENT TO PROPOSED JUNIPERO DRIVE CONNECTION TO NEWPORT FREEWAY, VII- ORA-43-CMSA. WHEREAS, the California Highway Commission adopted a resolution on July 20, 1944, declaring State Route 43 in the vicinity of the proposed connection with Junipero Drive to be a freeway; and WHEREAS, a freeway agreement was executed by the City and State November 25, 1958; and WHEREAS, Junipero Drive with its connection to the frontage road is necessary in order to develop a subdivision tract and to provide access to a City park; and WHEREAS, under the provisions of Section 100.2 and 100.3 of the Streets and Highways Code provides that no city street, county road, or other public highway shall open into, or connect with my freeway unless the California Highway Commission adopts a resolution consenting to this opening and fixes the terms and conditions under which such connections will be made: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the California Highway Commission be requested to consent to a connection of the adopted route of the proposed Newport Freeway (VII -ORA -43) at Tmipero Drive in the City of Costa Mesa to temporary front- age road and to grant a permit for a connection to said temporary frontage road.
