HomeMy WebLinkAbout779 - Republic No. 4 Annexation - Intention to AnnexRESOLUTION NO. 779 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA OF INTENTION TO ANNEX A CERTAIN UNINHABITED AREA DESIGNATED AS "REPUBLIC N0. 4 ANNEXATION," AND GIVING NOTICE THEREOF. WHEREAS, there is situated outside of and contiguous to the City of Costa E Mesa a certain uninhabited area as hereinafter more particularly described; and WHEREAS, the owners of all the land and territory by area and by assessed valuation as shown on the last equalized assessment roll of the County of Orange have expressed themselves as desirous of having the same annexed with the City of Costa Mesa; and WHEREAS, it would be for the best interest of the City of Costa Mesa to annex the said hereinafter described property; and WHEREAS, there has been submitted, on or about the 23rd day of August, 1960, to the Orange County Boundary Commission, a legal description and plat of the said hereinafter described uninhabited area, for its report, pursuant to the provisions of Section 35002 of the Government Code of the State of California; and WHEREAS, the report of said Orange County Boundary Commission has been ■/ secured and reported upon by said Boundary Commission with respect to the definiteness Land certainty of the proposed boundaries; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa, a City of the Sixth Class, to annex the said real property as hereinafter described, which said real property is contiguous to the present boundaries of the City of Costa Mesa, and which property is, at the present time, uninhabited. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that it is proposed by the City of Costa Mesa to annex the hereinafter described real property to the City of Costa Mesa, which said real property shall, in these proceedings, be known as Annexation No. 45 to the City of Costa Mesa, and bear the name "REPUBLIC N0. 4 ANNEXATION." The specific description of the boundaries of the territory proposed to be annexed is as follows: A parcel of land lying within Tract No. 653 as shown on a map thereof recorded in Book 19, Page 42 of Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange County, California, the boundary of which is described as follows: Beginning at a point in the existing boundary of the City of Costa Mesa, said point being the Northwesterly corner of Lot 111 of said Tract No. 653; thence along the existing boundary of the City of Costa Mesa and the Northerly line of Lot 111 and Lot 110 of said Tract No. 653 North 890 28' 00" East, 352.63 feet to the Northeasterly corner of said Lot 110; thence South 00 32' 00" East 660.25 feet along the Easterly line of said Lot 110 and the Southerly prolongation thereof to centerline of Victoria Street; thence South 890 28' 00" West 519.41 feet to the Southerly prolongation of the Westerly line of Lot 111 of said Tract No. 653; thence, departing from the existing boundary of the City of Costa Mesa, North 70 25' 00" East, 294.85 feet along the Westerly line of said Lot 111; thence North 230 48' 00" East 219.75 feet along the Westerly line of said Lot 111; thence North 110 28' 00" East, 172.61 feet along the Westerly line of Lot 111 to the North- westerly corner thereof and the point of beginning. FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that on the 3rd day of October, 1960, at the hour of 7:30 o'clock p.m. on said day, or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard, at the Council Chambers in the City Hall of the City of Costa Mesa, 695 West 19th Street, Costa Mesa, California, a hearing will be had, at which hearing the City Council shall hear and pass upon all written protests filed at any time before said hour set for said hearing by any person owning real property within the territory so proposed to be annexed, and at any time before the said hour set for said hearing any owner of property within the territory proposed to be annexed may file a written protest against the annexation. The protest shall set forth the name of the owner of the property affected and give a description of the said property in general terms. The City Clerk of the City of Costa Mesa is hereby directed and authorized to cause a copy of this Resolution to be published once a week for two weeks prior to said hearing in the GLOBE -HERALD and PILOT, a newspaper of general circulation printed and published in the City of Costa Mesa.
