A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE
DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SERVICES TO EXECUTE THE
NECESSARY AGREEMENTS TO RECEIVE FUNDS
UNDER THE CALIFORNIA SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOL
PROGRAM FOR THE BAKER/MENDOZA SIGNAL
PROJECT.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA HEREBY RESOLVES AS
FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, the California Safe Routes to School (SR2S) Program was
established in 1999 through the passage and signing of Assembly Bill 1475 to improve
and enhance the safety of pedestrian and bicycle facilities and related infrastructure;
and
WHEREAS, the City of Costa Mesa has been awarded $167,200 to construct
new traffic signals, lighting and ADA ramps at the intersection of Baker Street and
Mendoza Drive; and
WHEREAS, the grant award process for said funds necessitates the designation
of an authorized City official to execute a State Funded Projects Agreement and
Program Supplement Agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Costa Mesa does hereby
designate the Public Services Director and/or his designee to execute the required
agreements and process the necessary reimbursement forms to receive the awarded
funds.
