A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, INITIATING
PROCEEDINGS FOR RENEWAL OF CITY OF COSTA
MESA LANDSCAPING ASSESSMENT DISTRICT NO. 1
FOR FISCAL YEAR 1998-99, LOCATED SOUTH OF
SUNFLOWER AVENUE AND EAST OF SMALLEY
ROAD.
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Landscaping and Lighting Act of 1972, the City
Council adopted Resolution No. 78-53 on May 15, 1978, ordering the formation of
City of Costa Mesa Landscaping Assessment District No. 1, Tract 9901, and levying
an assessment thereon for fiscal year 1978 through 1979; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Landscaping and lighting Act of 1972, the City
Council adopted Resolution No. 84-82 on June 18, 1984, ordering the annexation of
property located within Tract 12011 to City of Costa Mesa Landscaping Assessment
District No. 1; and
WHEREAS, Streets and Highways Code Section 22620 et seq. requires annual
renewal of assessment districts formed, pursuant to the provisions of the Landscaping
and Lighting Act of 1972;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA
does hereby find, determine, and resolve as follows:
1. No new improvements nor substantial changes in existing
improvements are proposed for City of Costa Mesa Landscaping
Assessment District No. 1;
2. The City Engineer is hereby directed to prepare and file with the City
Council the report as defined in Section 22565 through and including
Section 22574 of the California Streets and Highways Code, and prepare
the property owner notice and ballot with respect to said district;
3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution.
