RESOLUTION NO. 98-62
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING A
PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT AND FINDINGS
FOR DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF THE NEWPORT
BOULEVARD CLOSED CIRCUIT TELEVISION.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA DOES HEREBY
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
1. Approve the Professional Services Agreement with Odetica/ITS, which
is on file in the City Clerk's Office, for design and construction of the Newport
Boulevard Closed Circuit Television ("CCTV") Project based on the following findings:
(a) The CCTV Project design requires professional and technical skills in the
design of CCTV that are not subject to the public works bidding requirements
pursuant to the California Public Contracts Code; and
(b) The construction of the CCTV Project by Odetica/ITS is integrated into
the design process to a degree that the combination of the construction portion
of the CCTV Project with the design work by Odetica/ITS will result in
significant savings in the costs to the City of Costa Mesa and it is undesirable
to advertise for bids for the construction of the CCTV Project separate from the
design work on such project.
2. The Mayor is authorized to execute the Professional Services
Agreement.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 15th day of June, 1998.
